Talk:List of GameCube-exclusive titles

Major overhaul/addition of content

I've just rewritten the list using articles from Category:Nintendo GameCube-only games. The information for each entry comes from the infoboxes of the various articles, but I have included it without sources as this seems to be how other similar lists are presented and sources can easily be found by going to the relevant articles. I have tried to include all the games that had a reasonable amount of information in their articles (i.e. pages with more than one section/subsection and a fully populated infobox). This means that there are various games with stub articles that I haven't included, and an unknown number of games that are not in Category:Nintendo GameCube-only games that are also absent. Therefore, I would like to stress that the list is non-exhaustive and that editors should not indicate that the list (as it is now) is in any way comprehensive. I hope my efforts in starting this list will encourage future editors to add to it and alter it to provide more useful information, as the list before my edits was probably turning away would-be editors due to the amount of work. I would certainly welcome more discussion about whether the article meets notability guidelines, if it is neutral, and whether my edit amounts to original research, but hopefully these will happen naturally as the article is used more. I'll end this large and disorganized comment with a few notes about things I have changed from the original article:

  • I removed the incomplete tag as I feel that the page should be reassessed and a more up-to-date tag placed if needed
  • The list is no longer segregated by letter as I think a single table is easier to navigate
  • I have suppressed the contents section of the article as it does not seem necessary to me
  • I have made the genre and release date columns unsortable because they are currently not in a format that could be logically sorted (the genres are listed in no specific order for each entry, and I believe the dates would sort to the letters of the first region primarily)
  • I've removed the MetaScore column as information was not available for all the games. Also I dispute the need for it in a list like this as it is not deemed worthy or reliable enough information to be included in the games' infoboxes
  • This means that I have removed the following information that was previously on the page: Mario Kart: Double Dash!! had a MetaScore of 87 (referencing [1]), and Super Mario Sunshine had a MetaScore of 92 (referencing [2])

Additional Overhaul

I just added an additional 27 games. I was doing a separate list regarding the differences in PS2 and Gamecube and then noticed this page and felt it was missing some pieces. Not sure if the whole page is comprehensive now, but much closer then it was. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.181.111.63 (talk) 23:32, 29 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
