Melvin Palmer was a recurring character on Boston Legal. He is a high priced Texan lawyer, who typically relies on a southern attitude to woo clients and attorneys alike. He often represents big, immoral companies and soon became Alan's nemesis. Alan compares him an inflatable Bobo Doll ("He always bounces back"), but once asked Melvin to represent Denny while in Utah, after Denny snuck into a womans tent. Alan and Melvin have opposed each other on three different occasions, all of which Alan won. Melvin always retains a cheerful attitude while Alan masks his frustration and hate with sarcasm, to which Melvin never responds angrily, but thinks of it as a type of endearment. Melvin has appeared in 6 episodes.
