So much for "Be Bold"; my first complete article gets deleted in about 2 minutes after creation. I even went to the effort of locating/installing so many nice Wikipedia links! I was told that my acticle was an advertisement. RIP, dear Solarwolf. ;-(

Anyway, after sulking for a while, I have finally reemerged from my comfort zone of small, unobjectionable edits. My (mostly quirky) collection of initiated articles consist of:

*medium sized articles
**prosumer - my first serious contribution to Wikipedia
**deep lake water cooling
**Jesus on Mars - and, no, this isn't what you think it is
**Peter Russell - futurist
**The Assassination of Julius Caesar: A People's History of Ancient Rome, a 2003 book by Michael Parenti
*** yes, I need to finish and tighten up this article but I have wait for the book to be returned to my local library
*stubbish or small articles
**The Millennial Project: Colonizing the Galaxy in Eight Easy Steps
**Marshall Savage
**Holy cow
**New Mysterianism
**Cliffhanger (movie)
**Cliffhanger
**Yogic flying - yes, I am a skeptic but I hope I have struck a worthy level of NPOV
**Constructive criticism - hope isn't too meandering; am trying to give various perspectives and a bit of HOW-TO
**Stelco
**Skiptrace
**Wincenty Witos
**Corded ware
**Carathéodory's theorem - I used google to tackle this year-old request but I have no real idea what the theorem actually means. I am going to see if a mathematician will come along and complete my efforts
**home improvement - the activity not the tv show
**City, SF novel by Clifford D. Simak
**Kain Tapper - I have no clue about this artist. I just heard a claim on #wikipedia and made a nice initial stub
**Hammy Hamster - cerebral tv at it's finest!
**Community standards - felt it was needed
**IKI
**jingle - suprised not already there
**roller (agricultural tool)
**Dark Age Ahead - a 2004 book by Jane Jacobs
**John Gray (LSE), political philosopher
**False Dawn: The Delusions of Global Capitalism - a 1998/2002 anti-globalization book by John Gray (LSE) (NPOV comment: good book)
**Islandia (book) -- so far, have only read a little from the cover/intro -- not sure if I'll read this book -- maybe, my little snippet might encourage others to read this book who will then fill in more of the story
**Dennis Wood and his book Five Billion Years of Change: A History of the Land -- another book which I may or may not read -- at present in a browsing stage
**sugar pill
**chipper -- not that I agree with the sentiment but the notion should at least be included
**stipulation -- quickly tossed off this item
**Illichville -- my second article that was deleted :-(
**Saul Perlmutter
**Steven Pressfield -- strong author of historical fiction
**Sound Advice
**Peter D. Kramer -- heard an interesting interview where he was discussed his book and, tsk, Wikipedia didn't have anything on him
**Ray Anderson (entrepreneur) -- definitely a CEO worth noting
**Ecoforestry
**Larry Diamond
**CHON
**Aquanator not sure if is really that common a concept; but I am seeing the term crop up in other Wikipedia articles; besides, the concept is notable

I've done some good additions to these articles:
*Critical thinking
*All-terrain vehicle
*Hubbert Peak, especially the addition of "Lifestyle choices" where I push voluntary simplicity as the most practical approach to oil depletion (I'm curious about the reaction)
*add some criticisms to the purportedly bulletproof Participatory economics which simultaneously fascinates me and frightens me
*reversed the saintly spin on Burkhard Heim -- of course, in 15 years, everyone will bug me for belittling the next Einstein

Although I am hardly an expert in these areas, such as critical thinking, as I build up these articles, the process is a good growing experience that will sharpen my skills. Actually, when I feel like wasting some time, I like to work on Wikipedia instead of passively watch tv.

I consider the reading and creation of Wikipedia articles as an excellent vehicle for personal growth. Also, I am making an effort to create encyclopedically-worthwhile "book reports" of novels and movies that I read/view. A more active stance towards media can reverse the passive, consumer attitude that the commercial media engenders.
