Biography

Ranjin Raj is a musician and composer in the Malayalam film industry. He made his debut with the critically acclaimed thriller Joseph and the rom-com Nithya Haritha Nayakan starring Vishnu Unnikrishnan and Dharmajan Bolgatty. Both movies were released on November 16, 2018.[1]

Early Life

He was born to M Rajendran and Supriya Rajendran, at Melarcode, Palakkad. He started singing at age three and began studying Carnatic music at seven.

He is married to Shilpa since 25 August 2013.

Career

He was a contestant on Idea Star Singer 2007, which was telecast on Asianet.[2] He handled in-house music production for Flowers (TV channel), Zee Keralam (TV channel) and other media houses. Top works include Comedy Utsavam and Uppum Mulakum telecasting on Flowers (TV channel).

He started his career by doing ads, jingles, short films and music albums. He associated with director Shreekumar Menon for the Mohanlal starrer 'Odiyan' for which he composed scores for two promo videos. His scores became hits.[3]

He achieved greater recognition when he started composing music for Flowers, where his songs became award-winning and popular.[4] Director AR Binuraj paved a way for him into the film industry with the movie Nithya Haritha Nayakan". He rose to fame with his compositions for that film and Joseph. Songs from both movies became chartbusters. His latest work is in the upcoming Malayalam movie "Kaaval"[5][6]
