user name problems

As I told Gerardw, I created a new account and it is not my fault my signature does not do a link. It's a problem your techies will have to fix.--BlueRider12 14:58, 10 May 2010 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Bpell (talk • contribs)

Do not have a life?

Does the following exerpt from the article's opening paragraphs mean that talk page stalkers do not have a life?

"Talk page stalkers... should not be confused... with people who have a life."

--MaxAMSC (talk) 21:34, 13 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Erm, I'm trying to think what else you think it could mean. JamesBWatson (talk) 11:52, 14 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I would like to point out to all users, that this essay is not named after me. Many thanks. Jaguar (talk) 21:57, 23 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Replace "stalker" with "watcher"

I have opened a discussion about encouraging the use of "watcher" rather than "stalker" on pages related to this one, which may lead to significant changes to this page. If you would like to participate, please see Wikipedia:Village pump (policy)/Archive 118#Encourage use of "watcher" in place of "stalker" on talk pages. Having a life

what do you consider "having a life", as "snobs" / rude egocentric people often say the phrase " get a life" to people giving them information they don't want to hear. What exactly is "get a life"? I find this article offensive and in my country to slander ones name is illegal. So what do you mean? It is talk pages that are used for talk and to notice changes you must watch the page. (Crlinformative (talk) 05:21, 31 March 2016 (UTC))[reply]

Why is this under WikiFun?

This article seems a bit less humorous than most WikiFun articles, since talk page stalkers CAN actually be helpful. — Preceding unsigned comment added by RedPanda25 (talk • contribs) 01:50, 17 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Reorganise?

Not clean-up, but I think a re-organisation of the content is a requirement now, as {{TL}} (ooh the irony!), images, and samples are scattered all over the page. —usernamekiran(talk) 22:10, 12 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

intent

Do people actually intentionally stalk? Once I add someone's talk page to my watch list for an actual discussion, I tend not to remove them. I won't actually stalk unless an edit summary looks like it needs more thought. That depends on how people write their summaries. Gah4 (talk) 19:01, 11 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Gah4, if they are someone I like, I'll probably keep their talk page in my watchlist. That's just me, though. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯MJLTalk 20:22, 11 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
And you added them to your talk page before needing it for a discussion? I pretty much add any article to my watch list when I edit it. I only remove it, if the edit rate is excessive. And talk pages for actual discussion, and remove for the same reason. I only just found out about this page. Gah4 (talk) 21:50, 11 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah sometimes. It's great for checking up on newbies! If things get dodgy, I try to be there. However, I am suffering from watch-list overload at the moment. In those cases I just check what the latest revision of the page is. –MJLTalk 21:55, 11 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
My watch list only shows the latest edit. I thought about changing it, but then I might have watch list overload. If I go away for a day or two, it still gets pretty big. I might miss some changes, though. Gah4 (talk) 22:23, 11 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Thumbs up
