Civilization IV is a turn-based strategy computer game being currently developed by Sid Meier and Firaxis Games and is scheduled for release in 2005. The game will be the latest addition to the acclaimed series of computer games including Civilization, Civilization II, and Civilization III.
Features
Since the game has not been released yet, only few details are known about it. New features when compared to Civilization III include:
- A 3D engine which allowes player to zoom smoothly from world map down to features in individual cities
- Individual units will gain specific types of combat experience, such as bonuses against specific types of enemies
- More flexible technology development
- Improved possibilities for modifying the game
- Pollution will be replaced with a more comprehensive "health" concept
