:I'll just tack this on here, but please remember to be more careful about sourcing in cannabis articles in the future. Sources you've been using like allbud or leafly have been regularly deleted as unreliable when editors in the past went through cleaning up the various non-notable strain articles. You can see more of that work at cannabis strains, but the problem you seem to have run into is that many strains do not get the independent secondary coverage needed to satisfy WP:GNG. The strains article does have some examples of sources that do pass muster. Kingofaces43 (talk) 14:21, 11 June 2018 (UTC)

Just to let you know

Hi there! I just wanted to let you know that I have moved Mill Creek (Wharton Creek) to Draft:Mill Creek (Wharton Creek) as, while most likely notable, the draft does not contain any references and could use some improvement. Please see WP:CITE and the teahouse if you have any questions. --TheSandDoctor (talk) 06:52, 16 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Just noticed that you moved this page however there was no improvements made? --TheSandDoctor (talk) 18:43, 16 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Canadarago Lake

In this edit [1], you added information that is unsourced and subject to removal. All information must be WP:verifiable, regardless of whether you know it is accurate yourself. Please provide a source. MB 15:55, 16 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Just so you know Center Brook has been moved

Hi there! I just wanted to let you know that I have moved Center Brook to Draft:Center Brook as it does not contain any references at this time. This allows you (and other editors should they choose) more time to work with improving the article as it could have been tagged for deletion without references. Thank you for the work you have done so far & please feel free to submit to AfC or move it back to the article namespace once reliable and independent references have been added and other improvements made. --TheSandDoctor (talk) 17:09, 16 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for fixing the issues raised, could you please see about doing the same for Shawler Brook? Thanks! --TheSandDoctor (talk) 18:44, 16 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Just so you know Willow Brook (New York) has been moved

Hi there 420Traveler! I just wanted to let you know that Willow Brook (New York) has been moved to Draft:Willow Brook (New York) as it does not appear ready for the main article namespace at this time. Once this draft has been improved, please feel free to submit it for AfC (for a second opinion) or move it back into the main namespace yourself (assuming you are an extended confirmed user). --TheSandDoctor (talk) 05:55, 17 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Leatherstocking Creek

Hey! I moved Leatherstocking Creek to Draft:Leatherstocking Creek because I think your article has potential and notability but just isn't there yet, and I don't want it to be deleted. I'd specifically work on adding citations, as your article was unsourced, and adding content as well -- it's one thing to be a stub, but another to not be anything at all. Cheers! ɯɐɔ 💬 21:25, 17 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Tributaries

Hi, I appreciate your enthusiasm for streams, but you should know that the "Tributaries" field in the Rivers Geobox is intended for "major tributaries" (emphasis added) per the instructions at Template:Geobox/legend#Fields. For smaller streams this may include more or less each named tributary, but for large rivers, adding dozens of small creeks that join the stream is inappropriate. Infoboxes and geoboxes are intended to give just the major highlights of a subject, not every small detail.

For this reason, I will be removing the streams added over this series of edits. I would suggest that this level of detail would be more appropriate as a list in a "Tributaries" section of the article, but only if you add sources (as others have echoed above; references are not optional).

If you have references, but are uncertain how to add them, please let me know and I can try to help. Thanks and take care - Antepenultimate (talk) 11:31, 19 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

You should have put them in a section instead of deleting them. You are making Wikipedia worse. You should try making a page instead of telling people what to do!

References

Hi Tripp155.
I strongly advise adding:

References
Reflist

Below the body text on all the pages you are creating, as I did here.

Regards, 220 of Borg 02:54, 20 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I agree I have already worked on a couple of your pages. Also you should have more than one source. Reb1981 (talk) 02:58, 20 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for adding the reference section. And I add every source I use. But if I use one source I can't add multiple citations because it would be impossible.

What so you mean that is impossible? All pages I work on have many references. Please do research. Reb1981 (talk) 05:39, 20 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

PLEASE slow down

Hello - please stop creating pages so quickly as they all still can be greatly improved in order to be valuable contributions to the encyclopedia. Take a read through Template:Cite web - you are currently using the |first= and |last= parameters incorrectly in all of the articles you created. You should also be adding a section heading for the references as mentioned above. The pages also need to be stubbed (as was done here) and categorized. And, personally, I would like to see more than one reference for all of these streams - they may not all be notable enough for their own article, and it is partially up to you to prove they are. I'm happy to help if you have questions, but please stop making new pages until you have fixed the issues with the ones you already started and understand all of the aspects of a new page so that we don't have to continue cleaning up after you. Your attitude is also not helping - do mind yourself or it could end in a block from editing. Regards, "Pepper" @ 05:05, 20 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

County routes are not notable in general. I'm trying to ask you to stop before doing so. If you have a route not named Otsego 26 to talk about, let's hear it. Mitch32(The many fail: the one succeeds.) 03:09, 22 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I can tell you with certainty that is not the case. You can have 1000 sources and the road may not be notable for a Wikipedia article. The fact that you don't want to at least tell me your subject material makes me seriously concerned. Mitch32(The many fail: the one succeeds.) 03:19, 22 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Gentle warning and reminder

We have a rule here called WP:3RR, meaning you can potentially get up to 3 reversions on an article in a day. This 3-reversion limit isn't a guarantee, but in short, continuing to revert or reinsert the same content over and over again in an article is edit warring, and that is not allowed. Edit warring destabilizes our content for our readers. Unlike regular editing that is supposed to continually improve our content, constant reversions back and forth mean that readers are getting different content without any improvements. As a consequence, accounts that are edit warring can be blocked from editing.

When you disagree with something, the best course of action is to follow WP:BRD: Bold, Revert, Discuss. That means if you were Bold in adding something, but someone else Reverted that addition, then the next course of action is to Discuss it. Now, you've opened a discussion at User talk:Rschen7754, so you've unwittingly followed that process, but then you reverted and added that junction back into the article, which wasn't a good idea. We also operate by consensus around here, and if multiple editors (I count 3 of us so far) are removing specific edits, there's probably a very good reason why related to a past consensus. Tributaries

Would it make more sense to group all these tributaries into a list article at something like Tributaries of the Black River rather than have a host of stubs? VQuakr (talk) 06:55, 27 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

You've certainly dove right in! Just wanted to recognize your contributions and to say if you have editing questions I'm hoping to help if I can.

I just spruced up Woodhull Lake (New York) a bit. I'd recommend copy-pasting the templates on the talk page on to new pages you create. Also adding the appropriate geo stubs is helpful too. See Category:New York geography stubs for some of the ones you can add.

Cheers! Keep up the good work! EvergreenFir (talk) 06:10, 2 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Autopatrolled granted

Hi Tripp155, I just wanted to let you know that I have added the "autopatrolled" permission to your account, as you have created numerous, valid articles. This feature will have no effect on your editing, and is simply intended to reduce the workload on new page patrollers. For more information on the patroller right, see Wikipedia:Autopatrolled. You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Jessup River Wild Forest requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from http://www.dec.ny.gov/lands/22599.html. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 23:15, 15 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Help readers find your articles

Hallo, I see from my stub-sorting that you're creating lots of articles about mountains. Please remember that if you create an article at Pine Cobble (New York) or Murphy Hill (New York) you should also provide some link from Pine Cobble (I converted a redirect into a disambiguation page, so it no longer leads straight to Pine Cobble Mountain) or Murphy Hill (I've added a hatnote). That way people are more likely to be able to find and benefit from your work - either a reader searches, or when an editor makes a link. Thanks. PamD 07:58, 4 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

You could also help out by adding NewYork-geo-stub rather than plain stub, to save someone else the job of stub-sorting your articles. Thanks. PamD 08:49, 4 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Niagra/Niagara

Hi! One of the typos I'm currently working on is "Niagra", which is often a misspelling of "Niagara". I'm running into articles such as Conesus Lake where "Niagra" turns up in the title of the "Western Adirondacks New York fishing map guide". I can't see enough of the book at Google Books or Worldcat to check the full title myself. ArbCom 2017 election voter message

Hello, Bacardi379. Voting in the 2017 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23.59 on Sunday, 10 December. All users who registered an account before Saturday, 28 October 2017, made at least 150 mainspace edits before Wednesday, 1 November 2017 and are not currently blocked are eligible to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2017 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 18:42, 3 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for catching and fixing that. I was sprinting to the end and not being careful enough. Dicklyon (talk) 22:59, 3 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

But I'll make it Birch Creek (Yukon River tributary) since there's another Birch Creek in Alaska. Dicklyon (talk) 23:10, 3 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give Fly Creek (Oaks Creek tributary) a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. jd22292 (Jalen D. Hallo, Thanks for starting the article on Pepper Island (Mohawk River), which I've just stub-sorted. A couple of points:

 1. If you create an article with a "disambiguator" in its title, please be sure to make a link from the base name title, in this case Pepper Island. This was previously a redirect to Peberholm but I've made it into a disambiguation page: it could have been done with a redirect hatnote.
 2. The purpose of using bold for alternative titles, like Island Number Ten and Leppe Island, is so that anyone who arrives at your article by following a redirect from those titles will see quickly why they have landed on a different article from the one they were looking for. So please create those redirects, or other links. In this case, I've made a redirect from Leppe Island and added a hatnote at Island Number Ten.

All this helps to make sure that (a) the reader looking for your article is more likely to find it and (b) the future editor who might accidentally create a duplicate article at a different title doesn't do so because they find this one through the link from that alternative title. Thanks, and Happy Editing! PamD 16:15, 6 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

After a quick look at your most recent new articles I've made a disambiguation page at Hoffmans (it was previously a redirect to the New Jersey place), and a redirect from Daleys Island. PamD 16:24, 6 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks on the river work

I appreciate your help in implementing the new "tributary" convention as well as the other great stuff you're doing. I didn't quite understand your suggestion on my talk page, and replied there. Dicklyon (talk) 20:12, 6 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Springfield, New York, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Summit Lake (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 19:59, 7 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Bacardi379. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Mill Creek".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply and remove the db-afc, db-draft, or db-g13 code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. GeoffreyT2000 (talk) 20:40, 5 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

West Kill

You're welcome. I just nominated it for DYK; I have included you as a coauthor.

I admit I didn't expect to write so much (and I'm not done yet ... I need to add some information on the fishing). I am quite familiar with the Spruceton Valley from all the hiking I've done up there, and I figured I'd just write a section on its course. But then I wanted to know if I could find information on what I call the three "vital statistics" of a watercourse we should endeavor to have in every article about one: length, watershed area and discharge. I looked around, expecting I might be lucky if I found two of those ... but then I found that and so much more. I guess I can thank it being part of the NYC water supply ... the DEP needs to know everything it can about the streams that feed its reservoirs. DYK for West Kill

On 27 January 2018, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article West Kill, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that the watershed of the West Kill (Diamond Notch Falls pictured) has the steepest slopes and highest overall elevation of any subbasin of New York's Schoharie Creek? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/West Kill. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, West Kill), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Nomination of Gorilla Glue (cannabis) for deletion

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Gorilla Glue (cannabis) is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Gorilla Glue (cannabis) until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. Kingofaces43 (talk) 14:15, 11 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I'll just tack this on here, but please remember to be more careful about sourcing in cannabis articles in the future. Kingofaces43 (talk) 14:21, 11 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
