[[File:Information orange.svg|25px|alt=Information icon]] Hello! Thank you for your recent contributions to [[:Wazir Khan Mosque]]. I did have one note for you. I am working on a maintenance project to clean up [[:Category:Pages using infoboxes with thumbnail images]]. In the future, please do not use thumbnails when adding images to an infobox (see [[WP:INFOBOXIMAGE]]). What does this mean? Well in the infobox, when you specify the image you wish to use, instead of doing it like this: |
|||
{{para|image|{{var|<nowiki>[[File:SomeImage.jpg|thumb|Some image caption]]</nowiki>}}}} |
|||
Instead just supply the name of the image. So in this case you can simply do: |
|||
{{para|image|{{var|SomeImage.jpg}}}}. |
|||
There will then be a separate parameter for the image caption such as {{para|caption|{{var|Some image caption}}}}. Please note that this is a generic form message I am leaving on your page because you recently added a thumbnail to an infobox. The specific parameters for the image and caption may be different for the infobox you are using! Please consult the Template page for the infobox being used to see better documentation. Thanks!! Disambiguation link notification for April 15
Hi. When you recently edited Balawaristan National Front, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages PPP, PML and Kohistan (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Please stop adding unsourced opinions and unreliable sources as you did to Caste system among Muslims. This contravenes Wikipedia's policy on verifiability. If you continue to do so, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Bladesmulti (talk) 03:27, 19 December 2014 (UTC)
Also stop using multiple IPs or accounts if you are doing that. Bladesmulti (talk) 03:27, 19 December 2014 (UTC)

Point out the fabricated resource. Your only defense to long typed up researched article was "nonsense"
And yes, that was my IP, I forgot to log in. Ooops.

You appear to be engaged in an edit war with one or more editors according to your reverts at Nar Sher Ali Khan. Although repeatedly reverting or undoing another editor's contributions may seem necessary to protect your preferred version of a page, on Wikipedia this is usually seen as obstructing the normal editing process, and often creates animosity between editors. Instead of edit warring, please discuss the situation with the editor(s) involved and try to reach a consensus on the talk page.
If editors continue to revert to their preferred version they are likely to be blocked from editing. This isn't done to punish an editor, but to prevent the disruption caused by edit warring. In particular, editors should be aware of the three-revert rule, which says that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. While edit warring on Wikipedia is not acceptable in any amount, breaking the three-revert rule is very likely to lead to a block. Bladesmulti (talk) 04:14, 19 December 2014 (UTC)
Firstly, What I said makes sense. If you need me to simplify my English, I would be more than happy to oblige. Secondly, the page you provided neither proves nor disproves any point you made, and so is completely irrelevant.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Willard84 (talk • contribs) 04:31, 19 December 2014 (UTC)
- You are promoting the term Azad Kashmir and yet you are inserting a category that is about Pakistan Occupied Kashmir and it doesn't even exists. Editing While Logged Out
It has been found that you have edited logged out to avoid scrutiny. Please review the policy on acceptable alternate accounts. In short, alternate accounts or people to support you should not be used for the purposes of deceiving others into seeing more support for your position. It is not acceptable to use an account and an IP on the same article, or the same topic area, unless they are publically and plainly disclosed.
This is your only warning. If you repeat this behaviour you will blocked from editing without further notice. Thank you. Mike V • Talk 21:22, 19 December 2014 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Saleh Mohammad Street
Hello Willard84,
I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Saleh Mohammad Street for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.
If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can , but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

Reference errors on 17 December
Hello, I'm ReferenceBot. I have automatically detected that an edit performed by you may have introduced errors in referencing. It is as follows:
- On the Sahiwal Coal Power Project page, your edit caused a redundant parameter error (help) and an archiveurl error (help). ( | )
Please check this page and fix the errors highlighted. If you think this is a false positive, you can . Thanks, ReferenceBot (talk) 00:29, 18 December 2015 (UTC)
This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a search with the contents of Thar Engro Coal Power Project, and it appears to be very similar to another Wikipedia page: Thar Power Plant. It is possible that you have accidentally duplicated contents, or made an error while creating the page— you might want to look at the pages and see if that is the case. If you are intentionally trying to rename an article, please see Help:Moving a page for instructions on how to do this without copying and pasting. If you are trying to move or copy content from one article to a different one, please see Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia and be sure you have acknowledged the duplication of material in an edit summary to preserve attribution history.
It is possible that the bot was mistaken and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. CorenSearchBot (talk) 11:23, 14 March 2016 (UTC)

Chabahar port unnecessary information on CPEC article
I understand this port was created in response to CPEC but you added way too much information to an article which has nothing to do with India or Iran. If you want to add it cut it down and keep it snappy instead of painting it as some grand scheme which India has mastered. 2A02:C7D:14FC:C600:AC06:C66E:8988:269 (talk) 09:35, 24 May 2016 (UTC)
- Way too much information? Chabahar is specifically mentioned by Indian government officials as a counter to CPEC, and numerous articles are available comparing the two. If you think the two have nothing to do with one another, then you're not adequately taking note of the geopolitical aspect of both these projects. Willard84 (talk) 18:29, 25 May 2016 (UTC)
Chabahar vs Gwadar
Hi Willard84, I would advise against trying to set up a contest between Chabahar and Gwadar. It will just inflame the nationalists on both sides. Further, materially, the needs of China and India in engaging in these projects are quite different. If we make any comparisons, we should only do so on the basis of impeccable scholarly sources, not nationalistic news commentators. -- Kautilya3 (talk) 11:30, 24 May 2016 (UTC)
- I am not setting up any contest. Each and every single sentence I wrote is backed by verifiable sources, or basic math. As for the "new commentator" quote, I agree. But you cannot delete the news commentator I quote, and maintain the other new commentator quote without being a cherry picker. And the 1.96% figure is pure fact based on all sources, yet I see you've deleted that too even though scholarly sources are not required to back a simple math equation.
- I also try my best to write in a cold and dissociated manner without any regard to age/sex/race/religion/national background. In fact, if you look on the Chabahar page, presumably Indian editors have tried to denigrate me based on my national heritage, whereas on the CPEC page, Pakistani users accuse me of being an Indian nationalist. See [2] and [3] if you want an example of what I mean. On the CPEC page I protect the page from anti-Indian POV and bias, even though my compatriots insist upon using terms like "Indian terrorism to sabotage CPEC."
- I regard this as a positive sign, because clearly the facts which I present do not blatantly show a pro-Pakistan or pro-India approach, since neither side holds a monopoly to fact and truth. So if the facts inflame nationalists on either side, then that is their problem. Wikipedia is a repository of facts alone. We should promote truth and facts. I respect any viewpoint, so long as it is supported by fact and/or sciences.Willard84 (talk) 18:33, 25 May 2016 (UTC)
- I didn't delete the 1.96%. The editor that deleted it was right in that it was WP:OR (more particularly WP:SYNTHESIS). You are combining facts to imply a conclusion, which is not permitted on Wikipedia. However, I didn't delete it. I did delete the attribution to Hindustan Times, which is wrong. Hindustan Times disclaimed that it had anything to do with the article.
- Coming back to Chabahar vs. Gwadar, my impression is that India's involvement with Chabahar predates China's involvement with Gwadar. India has been importing Iranian oil for ages (probably dating back to colonial times). After India started getting involved with Afghanistan, developing Chabahar became a natural choice point. This happened in the 1990s. But I understand that China has upped the game now and India is playing catch-up. -- Kautilya3 (talk) 22:45, 25 May 2016 (UTC)
- My experience is that we can get around the nationalists by using good quality scholarly sources. Newspaper commentaries are generally the losers. -- Kautilya3 (talk) 22:46, 25 May 2016 (UTC)
- Let me also add that it is Pakistan that sees India's Chabahar involvement as a "strategic encirclement." It is not known if India intended it to be one. India would be quite happy to transit through Pakistan to trade with Afghanistan and Central Asia, but Pakistan has refused to allow it. India would also be quite happy to trade with Pakistan itself. Let us also note that Afghanistan has asked for help in connecting to the Chabahar port because it feels that it is overly dependent on Pakistan for access to the sea. So I am not convinced that there is a tit-for-tat here, even if some commentators make it out to be. -- Kautilya3 (talk) 01:26, 26 May 2016 (UTC)

CPEC under pending changes review
Hi Willard, the CPEC page is under pending changes review. The edits made by IPs won't be shown to the public, and any edits you make after them also won't be shown. A reviewer would need to look through the edits and decide whether they are appropriate or not. So, please be sure to describe in the edit summaries your reasons for reverts such as these. -Without edit summaries, the reviewers would be hard put to decide. -- Kautilya3 (talk) 07:53, 11 June 2016 (UTC)

Unblock
Willard84 (block log • active blocks • global blocks • contribs • deleted contribs • filter log • creation log • change block settings • unblock • checkuser (log))
Request reason:
User Yamaguchi先生 blocked me for disruptive editing, presumably because I was updating numerous figures on pages regarding 2016_Kashmir_unrest that were outdated since it a continuously developing story. This block is unwarranted. It came with no prior warning, and further, I was simply updating information which was already outdated. This was not an edit war, and it was certainly not disruptive.
The wikipedia page describing reasons for blocking states: A user may be blocked when his or her conduct severely disrupts the project; that is, when his or her conduct is inconsistent with a civil, collegial atmosphere and interferes with the process of editors working together harmoniously to create an encyclopedia. A block for disruption may be necessary in response to:
vandalism; gross incivility; harassment; spamming; edit warring, especially breaches of the three-revert rule; breaching the policies or guidelines, especially the sock puppetry policy; attempts to coerce actions of editors through threats of actions outside the Wikipedia processes, whether onsite or offsite.
I partook in absolutely none of these. I did not vandalize, I did not harass, spam, edit war, attempt to coerce anyone. I also did not "severely disrupt" the project and nothing I did was "inconsistent with a civil, collegial atmosphere and interferes with the process of editors working together harmoniously to create an encyclopedia."
Accept reason:

- Ponyo, When trying to edit a page, I get the following message:
"View source for User:Willard84 ← User:Willard84 You do not have permission to edit this page, for the following reason:
You are currently unable to edit Wikipedia. You are still able to view pages, but you are not currently able to edit, move, or create them.
Editing from 138.229.215.167 has been blocked (disabled) by Yamaguchi先生 for the following reason(s): Disruptive editing: This block has been set to expire: 21:05, 20 August 2016.
Even if blocked, you will usually still be able to edit your user talk page and email other editors and administrators."
Willard84 (talk) 21:26, 17 August 2016 (UTC)
- That is a block by on an IP, not a direct block on your account. I'm not sure if you're the intended target or collateral damage. Perhaps Yamaguchi先生 can confirm? -Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 21:42, 17 August 2016 (UTC)
- That might be the case, but the IP address used is my personal one that only I have access to by a password-protected router/modem. His/her explanation on my IP page says that the IP address has added numerous unsourced citations and "Refusal to discuss on talk page." The talk page for that IP address shows no such attempt at a discussion. Perhaps he/she was careless and accidentally blocked the wrong IP, but nevertheless, the block is still unwarranted as far as I can tell. Willard84 (talk) 21:45, 17 August 2016 (UTC)
- Given that a nearly identical unblock request was posted on the IPs page, I don't think it's a case of a shared IP. OhNoitsJamie Talk 21:52, 17 August 2016 (UTC)
- Hello Willard84, is there any reason that you are editing while logged out and blanking warnings messages regarding unsourced changes / introduction of original research? If there is a valid explanation for this, I would be amenable to having this block overturned by another administrator. Regards, Yamaguchi先生 (talk) 21:53, 17 August 2016 (UTC)
- (edit conflict) There's a block on 138.229.215.167 (talk · contribs) which matches what you are discussing. That particular block is indeed appropriate. If this is you, note that the block applies to you the person. That is, you are not permitted to edit until the block is expired and once it does, you must not repeat the behaviour that lead to the block. --Yamla (talk) 21:53, 17 August 2016 (UTC)
