Mitchell (Jesse Tyler Ferguson) begins to work at Claire's (Julie Bowen) and Jay's company. He decides to behave as best as possible and leaves his snob personnality. At first, it works very well and everybody likes him. But then, Jay informes Claire and Mitch that he has a problem with a co-worker who does not dress very well. As Claire is unable to tell her the truth, it's Mitch who announces the information, returning to his old self.
In the meantime, Jay (Ed O'Neill) returns home with Stella. But Gloria (Sofia Vergara) and Manny (Rico Rodriguez) inform him that a doctor said that Joe might be allergic to Stella. Though he likes Stella, Jay has no choice but to bring her at an another place where she could live without causing Joe a rash. Stella eventually stays at Cameron (Eric Stonestreet) and Lilly's (Aubrey Anderson-Emmons) home. But Jay discovers that Joe's rash is caused by Gloria's facepalm. He eventually brings Stella at his house.
Luke (Nolan Gould) decides to spend time with his friends rather than with Phil (Ty Burrell). This forces Phil to hang-out with Andy (Adam DeVine) instead of his son, something that Lukes does not like as he feels excluded. Luke finally comfronts Phil saying that the fact he refuses to practice an activity with his father does not mean that he has to be replaced. Phil explains to him that he will never replace his son and the two hug.
Alex (Ariel Winter) has an interview with a Princeton recruter (Aya Cash). Haley's (Sarah Hyland) behavior gets on her nerves as she tries to concentrate in order to make a good impression. However, when she overhears that Vanessa, the recruter, complains about her candidate's lack of personnality, she decides to imitate her older sister, saving her from an awkward situation.
