== DANCING QUEEN - ABBA ==

 This is ABBA's biggest selling Single. Yet you do not have it Listed. You do List 'Waterloo' & 'Fernando', which it outsold.

Towards the close of 1976 'Dancing Queen' was on over 3 Million Sales. But, in 1977 it went on to sell around 1,500,000 in the USA - reaching No.1 there in April 1977. It also sold several 100,000 in Canada, in 1977. As well as still being in many European Charts, well into 1977. It sold around 5,500,000 in the 1970's. Then around 500,000 as a Re-Issue in 1992. And in more recent Years it has sold at least 1 Million as a Download. That's ABBA - Dancing Queen (USA Downloads) 597,000 (Reported in Billboard on 23/01/2009), 100,000+ in the UK, & 100,000+ in Japan. As you can see, its Downloads from just 3 Countries are over 800,000. It means that they must be well over a Million Globally, as ABBA are popular, (still), in many Countries - Germany, Sweden, Australia, Canada etc, etc. This means that 'Dancing Queen' must have a minimum of 7 Million Global Sales by now. Making it ABBA's biggest Global Hit, & making it an error that it is not in your List. 17:26, 2 November 2013 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.1.230.196 (talk)

also several songs have sold more based on their combined sales certifications. these songs do not have solo references to proved the sales, but combined certificates does so. they include: physical:eye of the tiger (8.2 m), ill be missing you (7.1 m), youre the one that i want (6.6 m), thriller (5.6 m) and billie jean (5 m) digital: we are young (8.4 m), firework (8 m), someone like you (7.9 m), dynamite (7.4 m), hot n cold (7 m), fuck you (6.9 m), sexy and i know it (6.8 m), dint stop believing (6.7 m), lose yourself (6.6 m), right round (6.1 m), need you now (6.1 m), payphone (6.1 m), gangnam style (5.8 m), starships (5.7 m), fireflies (5.7 m), party in the usa (5.4 m), sexy bitch (5.3 m), set fire to the rain (5.2 m), teenage dream (5.2 m) and pumped up kicks (5 m).

Thrift Shop, Fuck you, Blurred Lines

Thrift Shop has sold more than 5M copies just counting US sales (Buzzjack list or Paul Grein Chart Watch) and has been certified 7 platinum by ARIA (so far...). However, since it is still selling well, the best thing could be waiting and see how many copies it will sell in the coming months, rather than listing it now and having to modify total sales 4-5 times.

Cee Lo Green's Fuck You have sold much more than 6.02M copies; the next week it will pass 6m in USA (Buzzjack list or Paul Grein Chart Watch), in UK it sold 898.000 copies (http://www.buzzjack.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=141954), 320.000 in Canada (http://www.musiccanada.com/GPSearchResult.aspx?st=&ica=False&sa=Cee%20Lo%20Green&sl=&smt=0&sat=-1&ssb=Artist) and 210.000 in Australia (http://www.aria.com.au/pages/httpwww.aria.com.aupageshttpwww.aria.com.auSINGLEaccreds2011.htm). Total sales: 7.42 million. I think it is time to update it, since it should be in the 7-9.9M list.

Blurred Lines has sold over 600,000 copies and thus should be included

ringtones and chinese tracks

should we really count ringtones??? several chinese and kpop tracks sold more than 15 million units worldwide which is highly unbelievable since tracks like i gotta feeling took more than 3 years to sell 15 million copies. their sources seem unreliable as they look like forums rather than blogsites. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 112.208.122.155 (talk) 06:50, 6 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

also, why do the genres of certain tracks were changed??? the genres that are supposed to be listed here are their genres based on their sound, not based on what radio station will play them. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 112.208.122.155 (talk) 06:56, 6 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The list already counts ringtones in the sales of "Low", "Lollipop", "Irreplaceable" and other songs.
The second link cited for the Mandopop songs is indeed a forum source, but we are not citing that precise website, but its translation of the previous link, which is a press release/article written entirely in Chinese and which lists the same sales figures as the translated version.
If an argument is presented as to why we shouldn't include ringbacks (a likely source of the Mandopop singles' massive sales) when the list already counts ringtones, and it reaches consensus, they shall be removed.
Concerning changes in song genres, I personally have only changed the genre of "Hips Don't Lie", as I believe it does not have enough of a brass section or enough of a "tropical" sound in its instrumentation to really be considered salsa music. I confused the song with "La Tortura". --Mαuri’96everything and nothing always haunts me…15:56, 7 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
