Speedy deletion nomination of :File:James A. Kowalski.jpg
A tag has been placed on :File:James A. Kowalski.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an image licensed as "for non-commercial use only," "non-derivative use" or "used with permission," it has not been shown to comply with the limited standards for the use of non-free content. , and it was either uploaded on or after 2005-05-19, or is not used in any articles. If you agree with the deletion, there is no need to do anything. If, however, you believe that this image may be retained on Wikipedia under one of the permitted conditions then:
* state clearly the source of the image. If it has been copied from elsewhere on the web you should provide links to: the image itself, the page which uses it and the page which contains the license conditions.
* add the relevant copyright tag.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. <!-- Template:Db-noncom-notice --> <!-- Template:Db-csd-notice-custom --> Magog the Ogre (t<small> • </small>c) 15:04, 14 June 2014 (UTC)

Hi Nina, The blog seems like its probably not very reliable. I base this solely on the indicia of bad grammar, bad writing and vitriolic tone. On the other hand, the writer of the blog purports to be a faculty member I think. I went to hUnter HS, but the only things I know about Raab are from published sources, not personal experience. I do give weight to the opinion of those who are more involved in a topic than I. It does seem like bad editing to remove the official Hunter bio and include this blog, so generally I would support the reversing of those things.

Leslie Cornfeld

Renewed apologies for inactivity. I have now commented at WP:BLPN#Leslie Cornfeld. I am hoping that someone experienced will expand the article a bit, based on your references. Reports of Ms Cornfeld speaking or being involved in some activity help with the WP:Verifiability requirement to document her career, but not with WP:Notability which looks for extended comment about her by someone else. If someone else expands the article, I may find it convincing enough to reverse my decision as closing administrator of WP:Articles for deletion/Leslie Cornfeld, but more likely I would seek the community's view by listing it at WP:Deletion review which is the place where deletions are reviewed and sometimes undone. Regards, JohnCD (talk) 16:32, 17 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Update: your talk page draft looks good. I am sorry that nobody from the BLP Noticeboard came to help; the thing about an all-volunteer project like this is that nobody has to do anything that does not interest them. I was very unwilling to mix the administrative and article-writing roles, so I am glad that you have done this.
I have moved it to the actual draft page (with a credit to you in the edit summary). Tomorrow I will look at again and maybe trim it a little, and then I will post an entry at WP:Deletion review saying (as the deleting administrator from the AfD discussion) that I think this version overcomes the problems and should be reinstated, and see whether the community agrees.
Two minor points: can you give a date of birth? Year will be enough. Also, I am not sure what categories to give the article. I have found Category:American prosecutors which seems relevant. Would one of these apply?

Hi, JohnCD (talk · contribs) - I cannot find a date of birth or even a year.
As for categories, I think Category:American prosecutors makes sense. Here are some others to consider:
Thanks for all your help. NinaSpezz (talk) 02:11, 22 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
See Wikipedia:Deletion review/Log/2014 February 22. I don't think you need to comment there, but of course you may if you wish; if you do, although I have explained your openly-declared COI, you should declare it again for absolute openness. Regards, JohnCD (talk) 23:24, 22 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, JohnCD (talk · contribs). I see three editors left comments on Wikipedia:Deletion review/Log/2014 February 22 and another left a comment to Draft_talk:Leslie_Cornfeld. When reviewing the draft article, I realized I left an extraneous period between references #6 and #7 in the body of the article. If you decide to restore the page, would you mind removing the typo before making it live? Thanks! NinaSpezz (talk) 14:56, 28 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I have removed the surplus period. For something obviously uncontroversial like that, there would be no problem if you did it yourself. DRVs normally last for at least seven days, and then get closed when an uninvolved admin gets round to it, so I expect this will be closed within two or three days. I have asked the user who left a comment on the draft talk page if he would say the same thing at the DRV, just to make sure, but I don't think there will be a problem. I was pleased with the comment which patted us both on the back for having done everything right! JohnCD (talk) 23:06, 28 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
JohnCD (talk · contribs) - I was also pleased with the comment. Great team work! Thanks! NinaSpezz (talk) 14:27, 3 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

A barnstar for you!

The Editor's Barnstar
I've noticed your work on many biographies, much of it of the highest quality. Bearian (talk) 19:59, 2 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Peter Gelb, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Peabody (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Inappropriate Canvassing - Friendly Notice

Information icon Hello. It appears that you have been canvassing—leaving messages on a biased choice of users' talk pages to notify them of an ongoing community decision, debate, or vote. While friendly notices are allowed, they should be limited and nonpartisan in distribution and should reflect a neutral point of view. Please do not post notices which are indiscriminately cross-posted, which espouse a certain point of view or side of a debate, or which are selectively sent only to those who are believed to hold the same opinion as you.
