I support the merge to some extent

Put the distilled version in WP:April Fools, but leave the actual WP:Rules for fools and any other guidelines for on-wiki humor on their own namespaces because, while they're dealing with jokes, they're not jokes in their own right. I'm not sure, but it might be a good idea to put them into the BJAODN template. Supernerd11 :D Firemind ^_^ Pokedex 04:25, 2 April 2014 (UTC)

As part of the deconstruction of WP:BJAODN, I have removed the April Fools items from the BJAODN page. They can still be found here. Shalom Hello 01:06, 15 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

April 1 2010 suggestions

As an early suggestion (or for any other context where it could be appropriately involved) - a link to Egging involving omelettes, eggheads and similar. Jackiespeel (talk) 17:07, 7 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

And 'Wikiwhacks' (orphaned articles) - based on Googlewhack. Jackiespeel (talk) 22:44, 2 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Suggestions for 2011

 • Nominate Grawp for adminship and bureaucratship*
 • Nominate Bambifan101 for adminship and bureaucratship*
 • Move the main page to "HAGGER?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????"* — Preceding unsigned comment added by Access Denied (talk • contribs) 16:51, 1 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, but you can't move the main page, even if you're an admin. Check for yourself if you want. Lanthanum-138 (talk) 03:29, 16 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, admins can move the Main Page, but they'd first have to modify the text at MediaWiki:Mainpage. Graham87 15:27, 16 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I meant in the conventional, well-known way... Lanthanum-138 (talk) 12:40, 31 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I have a pretty darn good suggestion for April Fools Day this year, how about when you click on the main page button (the logo), instead of going to the main page, the whole page turn upside down! I think upside-down jokes are funny.* --Codyrox (talk) 04:26, 27 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Note: asterisked suggestions were not adopted this year (in 2011), but may be in 2012 (we don't have much time to waste!) Lanthanum-138 (talk) 05:44, 2 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Suggestions for leaving out 2011

Considering the terrible tragedies at New Zealand and Japan, I suggest that we should leave out 2011 as a mark of respect. What do you think? --Marianian(talk) 18:06, 13 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

That's a terrible idea. Natural disasters happen all the time. Graham87 01:04, 14 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Suggestion for 2012

Theinhko was a king who was killed by a farmer for the crime of stealing a cucumber from the farmer. The farmer then became king and was known as The Cucumber King. Dismas|(talk) 23:21, 28 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

April fools 2013

ok, guys, let's plan this one out 2 months ahead. they will never see it coming. let's skip AFD on jimbo, that's gettin old... let's get creative.... Aunva6 (talk) 06:50, 15 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

This is not a joke. I think it would be good to merge these pages as it may help to eliminate any confusion about the rules. In particular, the two pages in the topic have almost opposite rules. Of course one of them is meant as a joke in itself, but I think april fools rules are one area where we should definitely be as clear as we can be, and not make any jokes. CodeCat (talk) 19:02, 1 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed distillation -
 • Rule 1, Hands off article space and procedural issues that cite article space.
 • Rule 2, Otherwise, lighten up. Someone else might think it's funny.
 • Rule 3, Joke authors, apologize as needed
 • Rule 4, Repeat from top.
NewsAndEventsGuy (talk) 19:18, 1 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
This nomination is only for merging the articles, not about their contents. CodeCat (talk) 19:23, 1 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I fully support merging everything other than the contents of these articles! NewsAndEventsGuy (talk) 19:26, 1 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Jokes may be acceptable. meta jokes that make it difficult to understand if jokes are acceptable or not - are not acceptable. support redirect/merge/delete of the joke page for coherence sake. Gaijin42 (talk) 21:16, 1 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

This edit (19:39, 1 April 2014) which added humor to the "fake" rules solved the problem as far as I'm concerned. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 21:22, 1 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Montreal micro-climate

Hi. Should joke stub article Montreal micro-climate be saved in some way before deletion? Shawn in Montreal (talk) 20:16, 1 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Boldly moved to User:Benoit Gonneville Damme/Montreal micro-climate (April Fools 2014). davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 21:29, 1 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Ah. I'll try to remember that for next year, thanks. Shawn in Montreal (talk) 21:31, 1 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
