Marcus Tristam Bean (born 2 November 1984 in Hammersmith) is a Jamaican international footballer born in England. He currently plays for Colchester United.

Marcus Started his Youth/Amateur Career at Local Club St Joseph's, Where he excelled and hugely enjoyed playing his role in centre midfield, Before being wooed and deciding (along with his father, a major influence in his career) on moving on to successful youth side Northolt Villa, Where he captained the side to multiple Trophies with dynamic midfield displays regularly winning player of the season awards before eventually being scouted and moving to his first professional club Queens Park Rangers at Eleven years old. Marcus easily adapted to professional youth football doing extremely well in the Youth set up often captaining the "Young R's!" gaining rave reviews before signing on as an apprentice/Scholar at 16. Marcus now as an apprentice, again Excelled with his footballing abilities Quickly moving into the reserve squad and performing consistently before signing his first professional contract at the club under Ian Holloway at the age of 17. Bean made his Professional Debut against Wycombe Wanderers in August 2002 only to suffer the ignominy of a second half red card in a game that saw four players receive their marching orders. He scored his first goal for the club against Wrexham going on to make more than Fifty appearances for QPR. Marcus also had two successful Loan Periods from QPR at then high flying league one Swansea City playing alongside the likes of Lee trundle, Leon Britton, Izzy Iriepken and also managed by former QPR Assistant Manager Kenny Jackett, involved in a big unbeaten run for the club and some great footballing displays with the clubs season ending in promotion. Bean then Decided to move to League one Blackpool after rejecting a new deal citing a Lack of first team opportunity's and after a preferred move to high flying Swansea where he had enjoyed Two successful loans spells didn't materialise, after the two party's couldn't agree terms. Bean later said he regretted leaving QPR at that time, calling it a hasty decision while also stating he was just a young man when he left,with a big desire to play regular first team football.

Blackpool

Bean did not make a first-team appearance for Blackpool between the Seasiders' 4–2 win over Aldershot in the third round of the FA Cup on 6 January 2007 and their 3–1 league victory at Bradford City on 26 March, and joined Rotherham United on a one-month loan on 9 August 2007.[1][2] The loan was extended until the end of October, and "Beano" scored his first goal for the Millers in their 3–2 win over Mansfield Town.

It was a frustrating second season with Blackpool for Bean, after helping them avoid relegation in his first and assisting them in promotion to the championship in his second, although playing a limited number of games On 7 May 2008, Bean was released by Blackpool.[3]

Brentford

On 19 May 2008, Andy Scott signed Bean for Brentford A player he said he'd been watching for a while, and Bean himself said "he was happy to be back in London after a nightmare final year in Blackpool" and scored 9 league goals in the Bees' Coca Cola League Two winning season from central midfield. He signed a new 2-year contract the following season. In December 2008 Bean was named the Powerade player of the month in league two and in 2009 Bean was also named in the FourFour Two magazines 50 best players outside the premiership.

Colchester United

On 8 June 2012, Bean signed for Colchester Untied on a three year deal.

Jamaica

Marcus earned his first and currently his only international cap in San Pedro Sula, Honduras, in a friendly match against Honduras, coming off the bench in the 75th minute as the "Reggae Boyz" went down 2 - 1
