Rachcha (Template:Lang-te; Alternative spelling: Racha) is a 2012 Telugu film written and directed by Sampath Nandi. The film is produced by R. B. Choudary under his Megaa Super Good Films banner. The film stars Ram Charan Teja and Tamannaah Bhatia in the lead roles.[3] The film was released in India on 5 April 2012 and now holds a record as the best opening movie in the Telugu film industry. The film was also dubbed into Tamil as Ragalai and Malayalam as Raksha, opened with mixed reviews.[4]

Cast

Plot

Raj (Ram Charan) is a local happy-go-lucky guy who makes his living by betting. He lives along with his adopted parents (M. S. Narayana and Sudha) who enjoys his life betting and making money out of it. Tragedy strikes the family in the form of his father in emergency and Raj needs 20 lakhs rupees to his father's operation. As he is on the lookout for money, he is approached by James (Ajmal), whom he has already met an earlier competition, with a betting challenge. James dares Raj to make Chaitra (Tamannaah Bhatia) fall in love, the daughter of powerful betting committee president Bellary (Mukesh Rishi). A desperate Raj takes up the challenge and begins wooing Chaitra. As time goes by, Chaitra too reciprocates the trap and Raj wins his bet. But as it turns out, Chaitra has a secret ,as the story begins to unfold, Raj realizes that he has a mission to fulfill and a promise to keep. Chaitra was revealed to the childhood friend of Raj. Raj's and Chaitra's parents are killed by Bellary for her property. The rest of the story is about how the truth is revealed to them and how the villain is killed and the promised of giving the alms to poor is fulfilled.

Soundtrack

The soundtrack of the film was composed by Mani Sharma, which happens to be his second film with Ram Charan after 2007 film Chirutha. The soundtrack album was released on 11 March 2012 at People's Plaza in Hyderabad.[7]
