That sounds right to me, except that it was not exactly the same suspension. Apparently the upper and lower leaf springs were replaced by upper and lower A arms, with similar geometry, that could take the ridiculously high torque. The name Cobra clearly belonged to Shelby, because the Mustang Cobras were called Cobras and the Ford V8 ACs were not called Cobras.
