Back. Kind of.
Kind of easing back into the grind slowly (still pretty busy off-Wiki). For now, my sole priority will be finishing that Unknown Pleasure draft; conveniently, I have Touching from a Distance checked out. May take me a few days to get into it, but feel free to rejoin the war effort. WesleyDodds (talk) 06:33, 5 July 2010 (UTC)
:Don't forget, the draft is right here. Also, I wanted to point out my recent discovery that some of the chart placements in the new Billboard website are just plain wrong. I was comparing the currently-listed chart peaks of "Smells Like Teen Spirit" to the old links used for reference in that article, and the new one are all kinds of screwy, both incorrect and incomplete. Just wanted to let you know as I haven't had a chance to edit Nirvana discography in a while, so I don't know if anything major has been changed recently there. WesleyDodds (talk) 11:32, 12 July 2010 (UTC)
::What do you think of these chart additions? I'm really not in favor of using "Charts this week" sources since they are very ephemeral in nature--that is, the information was accurate as of 2006, but it isn't all that comprehensive or as explicit as the other chart sources (like the UK chart books or Billboard' outright saying "this is the historical peak"). WesleyDodds (talk) 09:59, 27 July 2010 (UTC)
This is your era of expertise. Some right off the bat look sketchy, but I'd thought I'd leave it for you to give it a more discerning look. Also, I'm not a fan of certification tables (at least the sort that look like this). Is there a more elegant solution available? WesleyDodds (talk) 11:45, 30 July 2010 (UTC)

:Do you have a preference for what sections of the Unknown Pleasures draft you'd like to work on? I'm going to spruce up the Background section first (cut down on the general band history, expand on the aborted RCA recordings) then I'll probably move on to either Recording or Music. WesleyDodds (talk) 11:33, 5 August 2010 (UTC)
::By the way, I'd rate the Bunnymen's self-titled effort a six out of ten. Some great singles, but rather dull and samey over the long stretch. Meanwhile, I haven't made it past the first two tracks on Porcupine, because they are spectacular and I have to keep listening to them. WesleyDodds (talk) 10:34, 6 August 2010 (UTC)
Do you know anything about those early Joy Division bios now cited in the article? The Johnson one seems ok (it apparently has contributions by Paul Morley), but I know nothing about the Mike West bio. I'm instinctively wary about early bios about the band because it's fair to say that most of the in-depth sourced writing about the band only started to appear around the mid-90s. WesleyDodds (talk) 01:01, 25 August 2010 (UTC)

Quickly: do you have the page numbers of the British and New Zealand chart books cited in "In Bloom"? In particular, that NZ placing was added recently, and it appears to have been copied and pasted from Nirvana discography; it also lacks publisher info. WesleyDodds (talk) 12:40, 11 September 2010 (UTC)
:To follow up on that, isn't charts.or.nz a reliable source? Because if it is, we can just swap it out. WesleyDodds (talk) 13:27, 11 September 2010 (UTC)

I've just deleted one of your user talk pages
Hi JD554, I've just deleted User talk:JD554/Archive, since it was interfering with the text of Template:Auto archiving notice; when a "/Archive" page exists, the template prints out misleading text. Since the page had no actual content on it, I thought you wouldn't mind, but I'm just letting you know. Graham<font color="green">87</font> 10:08, 9 August 2010 (UTC)

:Oh, I'm about to clean up Template:Auto archiving notice; I found your page in the category I created for that purpose, :Category:Pages using the auto archiving notice template that contain a "/Archive" subpage. == Good idea? ==

I've had a go at simplying a few accessibility changes specifically for music editors and I thought the completed essay could be distributed amongst those in the community. Since i know many of the high profile editors I thought that if they saw me adopting the policy it might have a knock on affect. See User:Lil-unique1/Accessibility and let me know what you think. Please do not edit the page but if there are errors do let me know. ... -- <font color="SteelBlue">Lil_℧niquℇ №1</font> <font color="OrangeRed"><small>(talk2me)</small></font> 23:00, 16 August 2010 (UTC)

David Bowie: 'hours...'
Just wondering what you mean by "Most Sources" refer to the album with with a capital "H"?...most sources will not be attempting to preserve the artistic license employed by David Bowie by intentionaly using a lower case "h" (and single apostrophe's as quotations)...quite frankly, they are more concerned with content than style. I think Wikipedia can cater to both.

The ablum itself is titled 'hours...' (not "Hours...") and that distinction should be recognized on wiki pages refering to it.

Please let me know your argument for disagreeance, or provide me some of your sources._james. (talk) 14:13, 19 August 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for the information (on my talk page)...I didn't know about the WP:TM standards, so that totally clears things up._james. (talk) 17:32, 20 August 2010 (UTC)

Morrissey - new link to fanforum - why did you delete it?
Dear JD554, what was the problem with my link to the Morrissey/Smiths fanforum http://s1.zetaboards.com/allUneedisMorrissey/site/ and why did you delete it? Looking forward for your answer Cheers, pixxaa Pixxaa (talk) 14:58, 27 August 2010 (UTC)
Update: The relevant information (except pictures) is visible without registering on the site. You have linked www.morrissey-solo.com which is also a fansite with a discussion forum. Why can they be linked but the above site not? Still looking forward for your answer Cheers, pixxaa Pixxaa (talk) 16:25, 27 August 2010 (UTC)

Hello. There is currently an RfC in progress at Wikipedia talk:Featured list criteria#RfC - 3.b review in progress regarding Criteria 3b of the featured list criteria and whether it should be modified or eliminated. As you participated in a previous discussion regarding Criteria 3b when it was first introduced, this discussion may be of interest to you. <i>&ndash;Grondemar</i> 16:20, 16 September 2010 (UTC)

Hi - could you take a look at Talk:Echo_%26_the_Bunnymen#Reverberation_chart_position re. the charting or otherwise of this album - four reliable sources state that it didn't chart. Thanks.--Michig (talk) 17:54, 6 October 2010 (UTC)
