thanks teach, it wasn't boring at all. I did look it up in a dictionary but couldn't find it there and therefore changed it in the article. I think it's an obscure term,maybe? --Timdew 17:15, 2 August 2006 (UTC)

== '''Season''' ==

Did you see the links in your e-mail inbox? —<font face="tahoma"><small>[[User:JD UK|JD]]</small><nowiki>[</nowiki>[[User_talk:JD UK|don't talk]]|[[Special:Emailuser/JD UK|email]]</font>] 19:41, 3 August 2006 (UTC)

I know some of them say series, but the point I was trying to make is that they use the word season as well. —<font face="tahoma"><small>[[User:JD UK|JD]]</small><nowiki>[</nowiki>[[User_talk:JD UK|don't talk]]|[[Special:Emailuser/JD UK|email]]</font>] 19:44, 3 August 2006 (UTC)
:And the first paragraph of the second link. [[User:Godgoddingham333|godgoddingham333]] 19:45, 3 August 2006 (UTC)
Pointing out every time the pages say series doesn't help. It's the fact that they use the word season as well, and more the fact that the word seasons makes more clear that it is plural than the word series. —<font face="tahoma"><small>[[User:JD UK|JD]]</small><nowiki>[</nowiki>[[User_talk:JD UK|don't talk]]|[[Special:Emailuser/JD UK|email]]</font>] 19:49, 3 August 2006 (UTC)
:Series is plural as well. Anyway, it is common knowledge that "series" is more widely known and used in Commonwealth countries' English, and season in America. [[User:Godgoddingham333|godgoddingham333]] 19:58, 3 August 2006 (UTC)
Australia doesn't use Commonwealth English, it uses [[Australian English]]. And I just sent you an e-mail that hopefully will end this. —<font face="tahoma"><small>[[User:JD UK|JD]]</small><nowiki>[</nowiki>[[User_talk:JD UK|don't talk]]|[[Special:Emailuser/JD UK|email]]</font>] 20:00, 3 August 2006 (UTC)
:Australian English is [[Commonwealth English]]. Right off the Commonwealth English page:

:"Commonwealth English is a recently-coined collective term for a collection of dialects of the English language mostly based on British English used in the Commonwealth of Nations and many ex-Commonwealth countries where English is at least a common second language. These include: Australian English, British English, Caribbean English, Canadian English (but see below), Hiberno-English (Irish English), Hong Kong English, Indian English (and the English spoken in adjoining countries), formal Malaysian English, New Zealand English, formal Singapore English (but not colloquial Singlish), and South African English.

:And in response to your email, have you seen the amount of times the official site uses the word series? Oh, and BTW, you're about to break the 3RR [[User:Godgoddingham333|godgoddingham333]] 20:06, 3 August 2006 (UTC)
How many times something uses one word over another isn't the point of this. The fact that something uses that word at all is the point; and the official website uses that particular word more than once, and has done in other seasons also. If the website never used the word season, I would see the point in changing it on Wikipedia, but it does use the word; it even refers to ''Big Brother 6 UK'' as a season, not a series. —<font face="tahoma"><small>[[User:JD UK|JD]]</small><nowiki>[</nowiki>[[User_talk:JD UK|don't talk]]|[[Special:Emailuser/JD UK|email]]</font>] 20:09, 3 August 2006 (UTC)
:Yes, like I said, they do use both, but my point is that "series" is used more, and naming conventions state series over season. Wikiproject BB even says:
:Articles about a Big Brother series are named Big Brother (country series number); with exception to Big Brother America articles, which should be named Big Brother (USA season number)." showing that only BBUSA articles should use season... :Exactly; you're kinda being hypocritical then, don't you think? [[User:Godgoddingham333|godgoddingham333]] 20:21, 3 August 2006 (UTC)
I didn't originally decide on that, and if and when there was a vote or something to decide on the names of articles, I wasn't even involved - I probably wasn't even on Wikipedia then. That applies to article names, which you've seen I've tried to change twice; not to article references. There's no reason to change it; changing it doesn't improve it. There's decent reasons for having it stay both ways, but there's nothing mind-blowing that would suggest that it must be changed, or that changing it has a major dramatic benefit. —<font face="tahoma"><small>[[User:JD UK|JD]]</small><nowiki>[</nowiki>[[User_talk:JD UK|don't talk]]|[[Special:Emailuser/JD UK|email]]</font>] 20:24, 3 August 2006 (UTC)

Well apart from it being unnecessary, it'd take a lot of time to change every instance of season to series, and rewrite articles where necessary so that it doesn't look odd. —<font face="tahoma"><small>[[User:JD UK|JD]]</small><nowiki>[</nowiki>[[User_talk:JD UK|don't talk]]|[[Special:Emailuser/JD UK|email]]</font>] 20:32, 3 August 2006 (UTC)
:Well I'll do it then... There aren't ''that'' many instances of season... [[User:Godgoddingham333|godgoddingham333]] 20:37, 3 August 2006 (UTC)
Why don't you just, not? It would be '''much''' better. —<font face="tahoma"><small>[[User:JD UK|JD]]</small><nowiki>[</nowiki>[[User_talk:JD UK|don't talk]]|[[Special:Emailuser/JD UK|email]]</font>] 20:34, 3 August 2006 (UTC)
:Why not? Why would it be "'''much''' better"?
Because there is seriously no need. I mean, even the Big Brother website uses the word season. It's hardly a major biggie that must be changed, otherwise it violates policy. If it's that major, you should get onto ESS about it. —<font face="tahoma"><small>[[User:JD UK|JD]]</small><nowiki>[</nowiki>[[User_talk:JD UK|don't talk]]|[[Special:Emailuser/JD UK|email]]</font>] 20:39, 3 August 2006 (UTC)

Because it seriously is no big deal! The word season is used a few times. Oh, in the United States we play differently than in the UK. All the nominating is done by one person, the Head of Household. The voting that is actually done by all of the houseguests is for eviction. The reason being is that after season 1, the U.S. had their public voting rights revoked due to the fact that we made awful decisions for evictions. :P.S. You're doin that thing...

It may not have been clear to the IP at the time that the list was in alphabetical order; I didn't notice that. It's actually quite possible that the IP was intentionally reordering them, looking at the fact that they moved the UK and Australia to the top of the list. Anyway, unless this IP has made such edits in the past and is doing them only to be a nuisance, it's not a good idea to label edits as vandalism, and I don't see how this edit could be classed as such based on [[WP:VAND]]. ==One Tree Hill edits==
Your use of excessive punctuation implies yelling; please calm down. You asked for confirmation that America Plus existed, not that ''[[One Tree Hill]]'' was played on it in Pakistan, which I provided. I didn't add the information, and there are not references provided for every single international channel which is listed there. If you would like to ask for them, then that is your prerogative. As for the episode listings, what I meant was, it's silly to have two numbers in the infobox, whether it's 66 or 67, and to argue which one it should be; just pick one and stick with it. I don't care one way or the other. If it says 67, and it bothers one, then it's just as well to pretend it's including the upcoming episode. -[[User:Shannernanner|Shannernanner]] 19:17, 7 September 2006 (UTC)

Hi, Godgoddingham333. According to [[Wikipedia:WikiProject Big Brother#Participants|this page]], you are a member of the [[Wikipedia:WikiProject Big Brother|''Big Brother'' WikiProject]]. It would appear, perhaps because [[Big Brother (TV series)|''Big Brother'']] isn't airing in [[Australia]], the [[United Kingdom]], or the [[United States]] at the moment, that activity on [[:Category:Big Brother|''Big Brother''-related articles]] has died down quite a bit. == One Tree Hill ==

Hello,
Please stop removing the images from the page [[One Tree Hill (TV series)]] - I'm sure you can appreciate that it takes a lot of time and effort to upload these images and having to constantly re-upload them every time they are removed is quite tedious.
If you wish to leave me a message, please do not hesitate to do so on my talk page.
Thanks a lot,
Niall Feighney :-)

:Hi. The first thing I'll say about [[One Tree Hill (TV series)]] is that I would never do anything like that on Wikipedia. I can't find a single image there where we are actually discussing that image. There's no discussion about the shot, no discussion about the appearance of the character, no reason whatsoever that we need these images for the reader to make sense of the article. The huge DVD boxes images are particularly weird. We could easily take every image out of that article and the reader would understand it just as well. The only difference would be that it would be less visually appealing, and, "our article would be bland without this", which seems to be the point here, fails [[Wikipedia:Fair use]]. If [[:Image:Lucas Scott.jpg]] is any example, there are even more problems -- we don't have a real source, and we're not crediting the copyright holder. The only thing correct is the resolution of the image. I'll note that articles about television programs in general tend to be amongst the worst offenders when it comes to making spurious fair use claims. I suggest that it might be a good idea to start a centralised discussion at [[Wikipedia:WikiProject Television]] about trying to come up with sensible guidelines that actually take [[WP:FUC]] into account. "No unfree images in gallery or table format" would be a good rule of thumb... [[User:Jkelly|Jkelly]] 21:53, 12 February 2007 (UTC)

==[[Ann Hamilton (producer)]]==
I have added a "{{[[Template:prod|prod]]}}" template to the article [[Ann Hamilton (producer)]], suggesting that it be deleted according to the [[Wikipedia:Proposed deletion|proposed deletion]] process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "[[Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not|What Wikipedia is not]]" and [[Wikipedia:Deletion policy|Wikipedia's deletion policy]]). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the <code><nowiki>{{dated prod}}</nowiki></code> notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on [[Talk:Ann Hamilton (producer)|its talk page]]. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the [[WP:PROD|proposed deletion process]], the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the [[Wikipedia:Criteria for speedy deletion|speedy deletion criteria]] or it can be sent to [[Wikipedia:Articles for deletion|Articles for Deletion]], where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. == Weeks in Big Brother 2007 (UK) ==

In the article [[Big Brother 2007 (UK)]] you made a change to how the weeks are defined in the section on weekly roundups. There is currently an ongoing discussion at [[Talk:Big_Brother_2007_(UK)]] about whether the first week was 3 days, 10 days, or whether weeks start on Wednesday. Please contribute to this discussion before making any further changes to this. Thanks [[User:Jrphayes|John Hayes]] 16:04, 6 June 2007 (UTC)

== Thanks for correcting me ==

For putting "no nominations" rather than "not eligible" I had forgotten all about that discussion back in week 1, ironically I was the one suggesting keeping "no nominations" for when no-one could nominate. Thanks. [[User:Jrphayes|John Hayes]][[User_talk:Jrphayes|talk]] 19:51, 1 August 2007 (UTC)
:When you created the transfers section (good idea), you wiped over the reference I had just added for the 4 new halfway housemates, no problem though I put it back in, just wanted to let you know. [[User:Jrphayes|John Hayes]][[User_talk:Jrphayes|talk]] 19:57, 1 August 2007 (UTC)

Hey. I reverted your edit and replied to [[Talk:Big_Brother_Australia_2007#Day_0.2F1|your query]] on the talk page. Don't worry, I didn't understand at first! ==Fair use rationale for [[:Image:Secret Story logo.jpg]]==
[[Image:Nuvola apps important.svg|70px|left]]
Thanks for uploading or contributing to '''[[:Image:Secret Story logo.jpg]]'''. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under [[Wikipedia:Fair use|fair use]] but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to [[:Image:Secret Story logo.jpg|the image description page]] and edit it to include a [[Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline|fair use rationale]].

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "[[Special:Contributions/{{PAGENAME}}|my contributions]]" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on [[Wikipedia:Criteria for speedy deletion#Images.2FMedia|criteria for speedy deletion]]. If you have any questions please ask them at the [[Wikipedia:Media copyright questions|Media copyright questions page]]. Thank you.<!-- Template:Di-no fair use rationale-notice --> NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. [[User:STBotI|STBotI]] 22:07, 10 August 2007 (UTC)
==Orphaned non-free media (Image:OTH Title Sequence.jpg)==
[[Image:Nuvola apps important blue.svg|25px]] Thanks for uploading '''[[:Image:OTH Title Sequence.jpg]]'''. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a [[WP:FU|claim of fair use]]. However, it is currently [[Wikipedia:Orphan|orphaned]], meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. [[WP:BOLD|You may add it back]] if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see [[Wikipedia:Non-free content#Policy|our policy for non-free media]]).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "[[Special:Contributions/{{PAGENAME}}|my contributions]]" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any '''articles''' will be deleted after seven days, as described on [[wikipedia:Criteria for speedy deletion#Images.2FMedia|criteria for speedy deletion]]. *'''Nomination/Voting History Tables''' - Many articles do not follow the guidelines of [[Wikipedia:BIGBRO#Nominations_table_and_Voting_history_table|Nominations table and Voting history table]] section. ; Country-specific
Please help us improve the country-specific articles by providing references, reception details, and production details. Please don't add [[WP:TRIVIA|trivia]], quotes, or [[WP:OR|original research]] to these articles. Aside from [[Big Brother (U.S.)]], [[Big Brother (UK)]], [[Big Brother Australia]], and [[Pinoy Big Brother]] most ''Big Brother'' articles do not follow the standard outline set out by the project. Most articles list statistic information from worldofbigbrother.com and trivia.

; Assessment Scale
You will see Assessment scale information on each of the ''Big Brother'' article talk pages. The article will be rated according to the [[Wikipedia:WikiProject Big Brother/Assessment|Assessment scale]]. Please consider looking at the status of the article to improve it. If the article has changed and the rating is outdated, you can change it or bring it up on the WikiProject talkpage.

We are trying to improve these articles, hopefully bring some to good or featured status. We would like your help reaching this goal. We hope to bring main articles, [[Big Brother (TV series)]], [[Big Brother (UK)]], [[Big Brother (US)]], etc. to featured status. Please help us improve these article, based on the peer reviews and your knowledge of Wikipedia featured articles.

Task forces for [[WP:BIGBRO|WikiProject Big Brother]] can be used to focus on a specific country/region's ''Big Brother''. A task force for example that would focus on [[Big Brother (U.S.)]] related articles could rely on [[WP:BIGBRO|WikiProject Big Brother]] for article structure information while providing more focus and customized guidelines for [[Big Brother (U.S.)]]. Similar task forces can be created for [[Big Brother (UK)]], [[Big Brother Australia]], etc.
