This implies that Jayfeather, Lionblaze and Dovepaw must work together and use their powers wisely, or the battle with the cats of the Dark Forest will be lost.

It was also revealed on Kate Cary's blog that there will be a new point of view - a cat in another Clan.

The cover features Flametail – medicine cat apprentice of ShadowClan, Tawnypelt and Rowanclaw's son, and Tigerstar's grandson. The new point of view is speculated to be his.
