Trailer trash (or trailer park trash) is a derogatory North American English term for poor people.[1] The term originates from the belief that such people often reside in trailers or mobile homes, especially in trailer parks.
Television
The Canadian television series Trailer Park Boys is an ironic and humorous example of so-called trailer park trash. Done in mockumentary style, the show documents the misadventures of the residents of the Sunnyvale Trailer Park.
The Rockford Files television series also featured a trailer owned by Jim Rockford (played by James Garner).
The Fox Channel is working on a reality show of supposed "Trailer Trash".[citation needed] It features a following of a Gahanna, Ohio resident named Amie. It shows how she went from working 15 hours a week at the local Staples store to just doing nothing and still complaining about it. [dubious – discuss]
Music
The song "Trailer Trash" appears on Modest Mouse's 1997 album The Lonesome Crowded West.
