Edwin Burr Curtiss (July 14, 1852 - March 30, 1928), was an attorney, and the president and a director of A. G. Spalding Bros.[1][2][3]

Biography

He was born on July 14, 1852, and he had a brother, Julian Wheeler Curtiss. Edwin graduated from Columbia University and formed the firm of Cunningham, Curtiss & Welsh of San Francisco.[4] On March 2, 1897 with his brother, Julian Wheeler Curtiss, and others, they started the Fairfield County Golf Club in Greenwich, Connecticut.[5][6] By 1900 and at least through 1908, he was a vice president of the American Booksellers Association.[7][8] He retired from the law in 1908 and was a director of A. G. Spalding Bros. He was married to Virginia Henry.[3] Edwin Burr Curtiss died on March 30, 1928.[2] His widow went on to marry August Heckscher.[1]
