Please add pl:Szablon:Bot and simple:Template:Bot Also, the category might need to be noincluded. Thanks, Yonatan talk 18:45, 7 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

checkY Done. I haven't changed the category; it's set to sort to the start of the category when not included and to the bot's name when included. --ais523 13:56, 8 April 2007 (UTC)

Edit Request

editprotected

Could an administrator please add the following code:

in includeonly tags? It would be incredibly usefull for tracking all bot accounts by a specific user.

Thanks! Matt/TheFearow (Talk) (Contribs) (Bot) 09:59, 22 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

☒N Not done This would create a lot of redlinked metadata categories with names that don't follow the normal naming conventions; please gain consensus for something like this first. (A better name would be something like 'Wikipedia bots operated by {}'.) --ais523 10:02, 22 June 2007 (UTC)

Gap after tag

Editprotected

There is a gap under the all the tag code between where the actual bot message ends and the <noinclude> tags start. Please fix, and make the <noinclude> tag appear immediately after all the tag code ends. +spebi ~ 08:07, 25 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I've known editprotected requests on other tags in the opposite direction, requesting the addition of space under the tag so that when multiple tags are used on a page they don't join directly onto each other but instead have a gap. That's likely to be less of a problem here, though. Do you think that despite this, the space should still be removed? Does anyone else have an opinion on this? --ais523 08:10, 25 June 2007 (UTC)
I believe the gap should be removed, and if other users want a gap to separate the tag from other tags, they can add <br /> to the end of the tag.
A table with no gap in between itself and the next table, create a nice, neat gap.

It is slightly different with div tags, which probably makes other users' feel the need to add the gap at the end:

See how the borders are touching each other?

+spebi ~ 08:38, 26 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Oooh! Adding class="messagebox" creates a small space between each tag. +spebi ~ 08:45, 26 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

So what edit exactly should be made? --ais523 16:43, 26 June 2007 (UTC)

Make the noinclude tag start on the same line that the tag table code finishes:
|}<noinclude>

instead of

|}

<noinclude>
Thanks, +spebi ~ 21:32, 26 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Done. Cheers. --MZMcBride 05:34, 27 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

 Done PeterSymonds (talk) 21:55, 17 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Excuse me, is it just me who finds the svg version ugly? It is only slightly resembling its "original", has broken lighting which in turn breaks the 3D effect entirely (not to mention that it has not "Crystal Clear" feel whatsoever). It is not a suitable replacement until it's improved. Миша13 20:14, 12 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Edits in future

Just to warn everyone ahead of time that there is discussion going on the bot owners' noticeboard regarding a proposed overhaul of the categories that govern bots and their classification. In light of this, this bot template could be used as a much more powerful tool in future. Don't worry, all existing templates will still work! Anyhow, all discussion welcome (best there, I think, rather than here). - Jarry1250 (t, c) 10:00, 20 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Addition to unapproved parameter

editprotected Could an admin change the 'unapproved' parameter to something like this, per point #2 here. Thanks, Richard0612 11:24, 28 February 2009 (UTC) [reply]

| unapproved = PAGENAME
This bot does not yet have the approval of the community, or approval has been withdrawn, and therefore should not be editing.<br />

Administrators: if this bot {{#ifeq: {{lc:{status}}}|unapproved|is making edits to pages not in the operator's or its own userspace|continues causing harm after receiving a message}}, please [ block it] or remove from the approved accounts.</small>|<small>Administrators: if this bot {{#ifeq: {{lc:{status}}}|unapproved|is making edits to pages not in the operator's or its own userspace|is malfunctioning or causing harm}}, please [ block it].</small>}} be put in place of the current 'Administrators:' section. Fix category inclusion

Sort of  Done - it's the documentation that is now causing the problem. Any ideas how to fix? - Jarry1250 (t, c) 14:26, 1 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
It can be fixed through substing in the template on the /doc page, and then removing the categories, but I'm not sure whether that's desirable seeing as it will clutter the documentation quite heavily. Richard0612 17:43, 3 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Minor fix

editprotected When the AWB=yes parameter is called, the resulting statement reads:

"This user account is a bot that uses AutoWikiBrowser, operated by <user> (talk)"

As you can see, there is no space between the comma and "operated". A very small problem I know but we grammar gnomes will thank you. Robert Skyhawk So sue me! (You'll lose) 04:41, 1 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
