I changed the Production status - unfortunately there are no citations for it. However, I've spoken with the director. I have also added credits for the editors.

Synopsis

File:Colaboration wiki.JPG
This graphic illustrates the collaborative nature of the Wikipedia phenomenon.

The film primarily explores the unique human skill of communication and how it has evolved. It looks at the recording of history and the purpose of doing so. It further examines how today's mass media captures current events and communicates them to its users. The documentary then focuses on the organised information archives we call encyclopedias. It questions the way encyclopedias have been written in the past and focuses further on how the mass adoption of the Internet as a communication tool has influenced this process. The film looks at web based groups of people who have created vast networks of knowledge and at how the web continually challenges traditional media. Wikipedia is then presented as the best example of this relatively new phenomenon as it is the first site to mobilise the true potential of the Internet. It allows for the productive contribution of knowledge by any person on the planet free of charge.[3][4]

Status

As of February, 2009, this project is in Post Production. Editorial is taking place in New York City.

The release of the film will be in time for 2009 film festival submissions.[5]
