Question

Hey. I noticed the poster on the page 'http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Elfenpromoposter.JPG'. May I ask where I can obtain a real copy of the poster? I shall come back to read from here as I am not a user.

Image deletions

Hey, Melesse. I thought I should let you know that all the hard work you do cleaning up CAT:ORFU isn't necessary - there at least three helpful adminbots that run 24/7, doing that thankless task. Otherwise, keep up the great work! east.718 at 08:41, March 10, 2008

Thanks for uploading Image:(001) Always is ~ Of Mary's Blood.jpg. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. The following images also have this problem:

Orphan Image

All the images i have used so far is being diplayed in a separate page (User:Shivaji Mitra/LesTout.com) as requested by Admin עוד מישהו Od Mishehu. Should I add the {{not orphan}} ?

Please Read

Please, before you tag an image for speedy deletion because it's orphaned, can you read the file links section. SimpsonsFan08 (talk)

In one article

I think all those images you've tagged are all in 1 article . that's my user page User:MightySaiyan

Do not understand

Hi!

Refer to: (cur) (last) 00:06, 12 February 2008 Melesse (Talk | contribs) (29,857 bytes) (rmv image notices) (undo)

I simply do not understand why you deleted an image on article about IDEA. After deletion the text below the image became meaningless. Did you read the article after "removing vandalism". Likely many others than just me would appreciate good explanation in stead of "rmw". It requires much efforts for us to get images on the Wikipedia, but it takes only a second or two to delete it.

Hi Melesse!
We thank you for uploading Image:UP-L1.png, but there is a problem. Your image is currently missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. Unless you can help by adding a copyright tag, it may be deleted by an Administrator. If you know this information, then we urge you to add a copyright tag to the image description page. We apologize for this, but all images must confirm to policy on Wikipedia.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks so much for your cooperation.

Fair use rationale for Image:Aquinian2004-05.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Aquinian2004-05.jpg. You've indicated that the image meets Wikipedia's criteria for non-free content, but there is no explanation of why it meets those criteria. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. If you have any questions, please post them at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions.

Thank you for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 05:57, 27 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

For sorting out that image of Big the Cat I uploaded.Fairfieldfencer FFF 09:24, 27 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! I'm considering restoring the logo since giving it a fair use rationale is so easy. If/when I do it I will immediately add an FU. WhisperToMe (talk) 13:02, 27 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:BusinesswithIntegrity.JPG

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:BusinesswithIntegrity.JPG. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? Melesse (talk) 07:51, 27 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you so much for your assistance with this picture, Melesse. I am impressed by your thoroughness and consideration every time I get to interact with you. I have updated the image description page and hope you will review the picture one more time to make sure I got it right. I'm new to posting pictures and know I have a lot to learn, but I can't help jumping right in because I feel pictures can add a lot of value to the Wikipedia community. Please let me know if I need to do anything else to fix this picture.
Additionally, I've encountered similar problems on another recent post. Would you mind taking a look at it and giving me your suggestions? Thanks! --Eustress (talk) 00:16, 28 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Image:Oscar_Takarazuka.jpg

I have tagged Image:Oscar_Takarazuka.jpg as {{no rationale}}, because it does not provide a fair use rationale. If you believe the image to be acceptable for fair use according to Wikipedia policy, please provide a rationale explaining as much, in accordance with the fair use rationale guideline, on the image description page. Some examples can be found at Wikipedia:Use rationale examples. Please also consider using {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags/Non-free. Thank you. New Project

Myself and several other editors have been compiling a list of very active editors who would likely be available to help new editors in the event they have questions or concerns. As the list grew and the table became more detailed, it was determined that the best way to complete the table was to ask each potential candidate to fill in their own information, if they so desire. This list is sorted geographically in order to provide a better estimate as to whether the listed editor is likely to be active.

If you consider yourself a very active Wikipedian who is willing to help newcomers, please either complete your information in the table or add your entry. If you do not want to be on the list, either remove your name or just disregard this message and your entry will be removed within 48 hours. The table can be found at User:Useight/Highly Active, as it has yet to have been moved into the Wikipedia namespace. Thank you for your help. Useight (talk) 17:43, 3 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image (Image:1 Giant Leap.jpg)

⚠

Thanks for uploading Image:1 Giant Leap.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice?
