Junie B. Jones is a book character created by writer Barbara Park.

Junie B. Jones, or "Junie B." as she is called for short, is a five and a half year old American girl. She hates shopping, except when the shopping is done in a supermarket. Junie B. loves ice cream, and her mother had to make it a rule for Junie not to yell at her for ice cream while at the supermarket.

Junie B., a kindergarten student, is very inquisitive, as she likes to ask her teacher (to whom she prefers to refer only as "Mrs.", not referring to her by her last name) a lot of questions about every school subject. She can be afraid of challenges at times, but most of the times she meets her challenges successfully.

Junie B.'s best friends are Lucille, an upper-class girl who is accustomed to being pampered and visit nice places; and "that" Grace (that's how Junie B. refers to Grace in her books), who is a hyperactive girl.

The person that she dislikes the most is "that meanie Jim", her class' bully.

Author Park does yearly tours every year, portraying Junie B. for small children at malls and libraries across the States. A lot of her readers, (usually children between the ages of 5 and 9) ask her for photos and even for Junie B.'s "autographs" on the photos. Park carries instant camera equipment so that the children can take their photos with "Junie B." the same day.

Since the original book was published by Random House in 1992, nineteen other Junie B. Jones books have been published.
