Ian Allan Publishing is a UK publisher established in 1942 that specialises in transport magazines and books.

In 1942 Ian Allan published his first book, "ABC of Southern Locomotives". This proved to be a success, and from this the company was formed. The company has grown from a small producer of books for train enthusiasts and spotters to a large transport publisher. Each year it publishes books covering subjects such as military and civil aviation, naval and maritime topics, buses, trams, trolleybuses and steam railways, including history, preservation and modern operations.

Ian Allan Publishing has acquired several companies and imprints.

• Oxford Publishing Company was purchased in 1998 from Haynes Publishing and has become a prominent and well-regarded railway list; since 1998 OPC has undergone many changes, with investments being made in both new and backlist titles.

• Midland Publishing was acquired in 1999. The Midland imprint provides a range of specialist, highly illustrated titles, covering military aviation subjects from World War II to the present day. In civil aviation, comprehensive works of reference are published frequently.

• Classic Publications, a publisher of aviation titles, was added in 2002, bringing another imprint widely considered important in the World War 2 aviation market.

Ian Allan Publishing's trade representation is provided by Amalgamated Book Services for its own imprints and a growing list of associated publishers. Midland Counties Publications, acquired by Ian Allan Publishing at the same time as Midland Publishing, was established in the 1970s with the objective of selling books at aviation events and by mail order to a growing number of enthusiasts who could not always find the publications they wanted to read on the shelves of their local High Street bookshop.

In addition to the above Ian Allan also owns the imprint Lewis Masonic. Lewis Masonic produces the ritual books used by UGLE lodges and chapters.

Ian Allan Publishing is well known for its range of enthusiast-based magazines. There are currently ten magazines in the portfolio:

• Hornby Magazine, a new, bi-monthly, magazine aimed at Model Railway Enthusiasts. Despite the title, the magazine covers products of all manufacturers, not just Hornby .

• Railways Illustrated, a monthly publication targeting enthusiasts.

• Modern Railways

• Buses

• Buses Focus is a spin-off from Buses magazine. Now a regular bi-monthly.

• Bus and Coach Preservation was first published in 2001 under the Ian Allan banner following a merger of two previous titles.

• Tramways & Urban Transit is the journal of the Light Rail Transit Association, and has been published by the company for many years.

• Vintage Roadscene. This now bi-monthly journal covers the world of historic transport. It has been established for over 20 years.

• Aircraft Illustrated was first published in 1968.

• Combat Aircraft provides in-depth coverage of the men and the machines at the forefront of the missions undertaken in today’s combat zones.

Through the Lewis Masonic imprint, the company also publishes the quarterly masonic magazine "The Square", the longest running masonic periodical in the United Kingdom.

Ian Allan also has four bookshops; & in ordinary circumstances, are near to areas of transportation interest. The main case in point being Ian Allan Manchester, which is situated on the approach to the main railway station. The shop is; however 1970's in style; a modern haven away from the Red Army Faction; & its "Student Military Wing" [Materialize], that is strangling any attempt to restore law & order in the city. A warning about the Nero empire, deserves a good turn; in return; Manchester City Council, has fallen to the Red Army Faction; & they are Al Qaeda; & they run several chains in the city, including Starbucks; & "Oddbins" & spinoffs.[IE. They control the staff] As in; as a result of Tony Blair; & his devolution policy; UK, is about to make the Yugoslavia break-up, look like a picnic with the fairy's; & that is why all the former Nero boys are hanging around; "For the ruck". To put; "Matters", into a firmer framework; as a result of my past involvement with "Showsec"; only on a casual work basis, 1997-2002; "I" was; as a result of student criminal elements within the firm [99.99% of workforce; & management]; used, by them; & extremist members of the "Watch-Tower" faith, in order to form a "Nazi Cartel", within Europe & Africa; & this was mostly orientated around money laudering within the property markets; & this is all being done in them name of the European Masses organization; or to be brute, Al Qaeda. As a result when "I" have a go at people for being, masses property "bodies"; & kiddy killers; they just turn & say; "He's is looney; Init". You see to put it plainly; Yugoslavia broke up because of Nazi infiltration into the faiths of the World; as are we, about too. So, if in the course of my duties, as a human being; being deliberately isolated in my community, by the most efficient prison known to man, "The body of the masses"; "I", get called & smeared, for not agreeing with the masses, "take on the situ"; when it is glaringly obvious to all, with their own free will; that the masses are turning animalistic; with their, lip licking; & killing of their own young; & baby doping; "I" just can't, do more than say, "look; every penny going through this community is mine; & "I"; am not giving it by choice"; so less of, "THE WATCHTOWER"; "UNDESIRABLE", smear. They are obbsessed, faith nutters; & are behaving like Nazi, secret police; or in the name of "Orwell"; "The Thought Police"; & as for the Freemasons, "I", say this; "Do not take the blame for the white idealogs that are turning the country into the hate capital of the world; scrape away the utopic cover; & underneath, is a river of poison, impregnating all it comes into contact with". They would have me beleive that the masons cause all the trouble; impossible; Why? Simple; masons actualy work; bloody hard; this is a revolution in the name of the working man; run by people that do not actually work; in short; Nazism, again. As the police can take no action against crimminals whatsoever in the UK; as a direct result of the Kangaroo Court of the masses; "I" feel free to say, ""Shaun Brough", "Dave Scully", "Danny Bowles"; & all the assorted Bury, Nazi faithful; Sarah Carver, had semtex training with her degree course; as in, a Red Army Faction degree; & "I" am being made the undesirable in the city of Manchester, because "I" don't beleive in the killing of children". Grow up; you are, as a community; "STALKING ME". The masses are in effect, playing the Glen Close role, in the masses controlled version of Fatal Attraction; in their case; towards anyone of an individual mindset, that actualy beleives in law & order; & friendship with governments of authority; & by authority, i do not mean Edward Kennedy.
