Was the fighting between Lawler and Tazz a shoot or was it scripted?User:Killswitch Engage

Scripted, although i'm sure they enjoyed it. However, Styles slapping JR's hat off WAS a shoot. TJ Spyke 22:55, 11 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

K thx, cause the it looked like their was serious heat between as Lawler voices a rather negative opinion of ECW in the Rise and Fall of ECW DVD and i figured that could have started a real fight.User:Killswitch Engage

Lawler's anti-ECW rants are always kayfabe. If the guy truly hated ECW he would have had absolutely nothing to do with the promotion over the years. It would also be pretty hypocritical if it was real heat, since Lawler was involved in controversial & very violent angles in the 1980's. Its not like Lawler hasn't used barbed wire & weapons in the past.--Hndsmepete 22:28, 12 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

AWA Southern Heavyweight Championship issue

Some editors continue to list Lawler's reign with this particularly championship at 43 times and it's not technically accurate. The title was originally an NWA sanctioned championship called the NWA Southern Heavyweight Championship (Memphis version). Lawler held this title a total of 13 times before the title was renamed the AWA Southern Heavyweight Championship. He would go on to win this title 30 times and while the titles do have the same historical lineage, for the sake of the articles, they have to be listed as two seperate championship reigns. The AWA Southern Heavyweight Championship didn't exist until 1978 and you can't list Lawler as winning a championship four years before it technically even existed.Odin's Beard 22:47, 21 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

123 time champion?

I calculated the amount of times he has been champion and i get it to 123. That's impressive. 83.73.228.198 21:27, 27 May 2007 (UTC)emilos[reply]

Quotes

That quote section is HUGE. Most of it should probably be moved to wikiquote, if kept at all. Drwarpmind 01:52, 15 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Andy Kaufman

I find it curious that entire sections have been recently deleted including the famous Andy Kaufman incident on the David Letterman show - could the edit done on 21:55, 18 June 2007 Burntsauce have been done in error -- More than 1/2 of the content was deleted (Mconwell 06:08, 19 June 2007 (UTC))[reply]

The edit summary of Burntsauce's initial removal of the material make it clear that it wasn't an error, it was application of the Verifiability and Biographies of living persons policies. Find sources for it, then put it back in. Everything Burntsauce took out was unsourced. -- Jonel | Speak 06:59, 19 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think it should be that hard to find sources for the Andy Kaufman incident. [[Briguy52748 12:56, 19 June 2007 (UTC)]][reply]
I believe that User:Burntsauce is misapplying the WP:BLP guidelines which state that contentious uncited material should be removed. Is the deleted material contentious? It doesn't seem so to me. Future mass removals should be discussed on the talk pages, or at least reported to the Wikiproject:BLP page. Unilateral actual such as this is not acceptable. But, please do find references.
