Question - I saw the image was removed from this article. Why can't we use a small sized copyrighted image, similar to British_Rail_Class_755 - until a real life photo is available? I believe fair use licensing permitted this, with caveats...Turini2 (talk) 21:27, 18 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Stadler Class 777: I have reverted your edits because:

• The amount of optional units is fifteen. This press release states 60 optional vehicles, not units. The amount of optional vehicles equates to fifteen four car units.
• Whilst it has specifically been designed for Merseyrail's network, the Class 777 is based on Stadler's METRO platform, as seen here.
• These units are being built in Altenrhein and Siedlce (not Valencia as mentioned in your edit summary), as stated here.

Coradia175 (talk) 16:02, 14 January 2019 (UTC) Hello! I am unfamiliar editing Wikipepia pages, but am very familiar with the project and the fleet of trains. Addressing your comments in order: 1. The quantity of optional units in the contract is 60. You have accurately reflected Stadler's press release, but it is incorrect as the Swiss refer to what the British call a "unit" as a "vehicle" 2. There is no such thing as a Metro "platform" within Stadler, which would imply that the Class 777 shares a common design with the other fleets shown. The page shows a number of products, which have been referred to as "Metro". The Class 777 trailer bogies are similar to those for Minsk, but that's about it 3. Altenrhein and Siedlice are the two assembly plants, the bodyshells are manufactured in Szolnok and the bogies in Valencia. The corporate HQ at Bussnang is not involved in the manufacturing. I simply want for the page to be an accurate reflection of the project and the product, which on the whole it is. I'm sure that you have similar aims. There's been a lot of activity on the page around documenting the delivery and testing of each new unit. Is there a consensus on what level of detail there should be on this?

I feel it's noteworthy to list the delivery and testing dates of the first unit but it seems that people are adding details of each unit as it arrives. With 52 units being built it feels like there's going to be a lot of trivial details listed that won't much add to the article.

Agreed @LicenceToCrenellate - a "As of 123, X number of trains have been delivered" sentence could be okay. Any more is not really notable, especially in the long run.Turini2 (talk) 18:50, 21 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

A trainspotter's picture, even if it is published in a trainspotter's pictures section of a fairly reputable source, is still user generated content - it's a "Readers' Wives" section but with trains. Plus, pictures are not generally consider to be reliable sources. This means that the repeated addition of a source for a 777/1 unit is unacceptable. 10mmsocket (talk) 22:04, 20 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
