== Adoption? ==

Hey Xiner,
I like the way you answer qstns. (not just mine) on the help desk and I've agreed with your posts that I have come across in different discussions. You and I seem to be somewhat in sympatico. When I visited your user page, I noticed the adoption thing. Are you still taking on adoptees? What exactly does this mean? Will you answer all my random questions about contributing? I seem to come up with new ones regularly and don't always know where to ask them. Let me know. Thanks.--[[User:Vbd|Vbd]] 04:20, 18 January 2007 (UTC)

Helpdesk question on Ukranian-Xs

I disagree with your solution to the problem; this is a new user and s/he can probably get more helpful advice on editing in general and this specific problem from the help desk (and it's borderline, but still IMO an acceptable use of the helpdesk). Also, you mentioned deletion review in your answer, which indicates to me that you misread the question, as it is not related to the deletion of an article, but rather the removal of content. I doubt that this editor is going to get the help s/he needs on the talk page of the article, and also the answers to her/his question could be beneficial to other readers of the Helpdesk. Respectfully, Anchoress 02:03, 17 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sorry, it came right after vandalism by another anon IP. I'll take up this case personally as repentance. Xiner (talk, email) 02:11, 17 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Problem solved. Thanks again for bringing it to my attention. Xiner (talk, email) 03:12, 17 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Album Source comment

You made a suggestion on J Milburn's talk page that adding <ref>Album X, CD liner.</ref> would clear up the confusion I was having. My question is this, is that not another reference to something in my possession? If so how is it verifiable if there is no source on the web (or if there is an incomplete one)? Unless someone is going to come out the the island and check it (in that case give me time to clean) am I not back where I started?. It's not that important but thanks for your input. Solonyc 02:15, 17 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I appreciate your attempt. And I am not saying it's wrong off the bat. It just seems to be that I'm caught in a circle. If I don't cite then it's not referenced. If I cite the booklet then it's not verifiable unless you own the disc or go buy it. If I cite another web page then it may or may not be correct and it looks like I used another persons work when I spent the time myself. The funny thing is the last two will keep my page up and the first will probably get deleted. Again thanks for the interest. Solonyc 02:32, 17 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thanks for bringing this to my attention. For some reason I didn't notice that the second time the IP editor inserted that entry he also added a source as well. Adding entries of non-notable, unverifiable musicians into lists occurs too frequently and red links are often mistaken as spam, just like what happened to this one.
