Sisu production is a Canadian media and film production company, founded in 2013 by Jaana Hein and Robin Ingle.[1] The company offers customized film production, animation and photography services to independent clients. It maintains a studio and corporate office space in downtown Toronto.[2]

Services and Areas of Work

Sisu Production operates in various areas of film production and provides a range of media production services, from idea generation and development to full-scale production services. The company tailors its services based on specific content requirements and has produced commercials, training videos, photography, documentaries, and other media.[3][4]

The origin of the name "Sisu Production" comes from the Finnish word sisu, which means strength, endurance, and determination.[1]

Notable productions

The company’s first production was a video feature for the 2013 International Travel & Health Insurance Conference (ITIJ) event in Vienna, Austria.[5] Ingle International won the ITIJ Global Insurer/Underwriter of the Year at the ITIC Industry event in Barcelona, where the video was showcased.[6]

In 2013, Sisu Production produced video features for the educational sector at the Canadian Association of Public Schools – International (CAPS-I) Conference.[7]

In 2014, Sisu Production collaborated with the Canadian Bureau of International Education at their annual conference in Ottawa, Ontario, providing video coverage of the event.[8] The company also worked with CreativeMornings to produce a short film.[9] That same year, Sisu Production covered the story of Roya Shams, an Afghan teenage girl funded by a Canadian charity campaign to obtain secondary and post-secondary education in Canada.[10][11] Additionally, Google Canada collaborated with Sisu Production and Hand Eye Photography to produce two marketing films.[12][13]

In 2014 and 2015, Sisu Production produced a promotional film for Enactus Canada, a Canadian non-profit foundation.[14][15][16]

In 2016, Sisu Production won third place in TVO's short documentary contest for "I am a Doctor", directed by Jaana Hein. The film explores the disparity between the job market Canada promotes to immigrants and the actual job opportunities available.[17]

Sisu Production has also collaborated with Novus Health, a health navigation platform, to create bilingual animations and commercials, as well as with VarageSale, a Canadian startup, to produce website animations.[18]
