Passport (Sinhala: පාස්පෝට්) is a 2024 Sri Lankan Sinhalese drama thriller film directed by Chris Anthony and produced by Dr. Viranjith Thambugala for Aura Lanka Entertainment.[2][3] It stars Jagath Chamila and Dharmapriya Dias in lead roles, where Nayanathara Wickramarachchi, Mahendra Perera, Darshan Dharmaraj, Priyantha Seneviratne and Roshan Pilapitiya made supportive roles.[4][5]
Plot
The film rotates around two youth, who fly illegally to Europe seeking for a better life and employment, but corruption, thug and crime lurking around them.[6][3]

Production
This is the first film directed by Chris Anthony, but screened after his second cinema direction Ape Principal in 2023.[8][9] He also made the story and screenplay and the producer was found two years after the writing the script.[1] Dr. Viranjith Thambugala is the producer, where Lalith Rajapaksa is the line producer. Assistant directors are Praneeth Gunaratne and Niroshan Edirimanne. Vishwajith Karunratne handled the cinematography with Priyantha Malavige and Shan Alwis is the editor. Art direction done by Aruna Dias Pieris, makeup by Ruchira Sanjeewa, Sound design by Sashin Gimhan and line production by Lalith Waruna Rajapaksha.[10]
Sudath Jayasinghe is the music director, Nilar M. Cassim and Kelum Srimal are the lyricists, where Sanjula Gimantha, Dumal Warnakulasuriya and Subuddhi Lakmali made background vocals.[10]
The film has been shot simultaneously in the Central Hills and Coastal area of Sri Lanka as well as in Rajasthan, India, Italy and Austria.[10] The film also stars seven Africans and shooting took place with the help of an interpreter.[1][3]
Release
The film was previously released on 22 March 2023 during 'Sinamabhimani - 2023' 10 year anniversary festival presented to mark the 10th anniversary of Sri Lanka Film Directors Forum.[11][12][13] The film was officially released on 4 October 2024 in CFL cinema theatres.
