Location and locality

The station is located at the heart of the town of Parit Buntar, a town in Perak which borders directly Bandar Baharu in Kedah and Nibong Tebal in Penang. Other nearby towns are Tanjung Piandang and Bagan Serai.

Nibong Tebal and Bagan Serai has their own train stations and Komuter Northern Sector do make a stop in all of the stations, however except for Gold services which only stops 4 time a day, ETS don't make a stop in both stations. Hence, when it comes to long distance travel especially to Kuala Lumpur, Parit Buntar is a choice for these town residents, including students of Universiti Sains Malaysia engineering campus and MRSM Transkrian.
