Kishmish (transl. Raisins) is a 2022 Indian Bengali-language romantic comedy film written and directed by Rahool Mukherjee in his directorial debut. Produced by Dev under the banners of Dev Entertainment Ventures and M. K. Media,[3] the film stars Dev and Rukmini Maitra in lead roles, while Kharaj Mukherjee, Kamaleshwar Mukherjee, Anjana Basu and June Malia play another pivotal roles,[4] with Lily Chakravarty, Paran Bandopadhyay, Rituparna Sengupta, Jisshu Sengupta, Ankush Hazra and Srabanti Chatterjee in special appearances.[5][6] It revolves around a graphic novelist Krishanu Chatterjee, who recounts the story of his life to the audiences through his bestseller comic book.
The film was announced in February 2020, but the production got halted in March 2020 by the COVID-19 pandemic. Principal photography commenced in August 2021 and ended in September 2021 in 10 working days, emerging as one of the shortest periods in which a Bengali film had been shot. Filming predominantly took place in Kolkata, with portions shot in Darjeeling. The film has music composed by debutante Nilayan Chatterjee, cinematography handled by Modhura Palit and editing by Amit Ray.
Kishmish released worldwide on 29 April 2022 in theatres opening to positive reviews from critics, who praised the performances by the whole cast, cinematography, direction, dialogues, and soundtrack but criticised the screenplay and editing. Made on a budget of ₹1.5 crore (US$180,000), the film was commercially successful grossing over ₹3.9 crore (US$460,000) at the box office. It became the sixth highest-grossing Bengali film of 2022.
Plot
After failing in the school examinations, Tintin goes to college where he meets Rohini, a topper girl in his batch. Gradually they fell in love. They both want to get married but somehow, they couldn't manage their parents. Then a series of events happen in their life which make the situation more complex.

Development
The film was announced in November 2020, starring Dev and Rukmini Maitra.[10]
Filming
The makers of the film with arranged an muhurat puja for the team a month ahead of filming.[11] The principal photography of the film started in August 2021 in Kolkata, followed by Darjeeling, and was completed within 10 days.[12] The film was wrapped up on 22 September 2021.[13]
Soundtrack
The film's music composed and lyrics written by Nilayan Chatterjee. On 30 March 2022, the first song titled "Tui Bolbo Na Tumi" [14] sung by Nikhita Gandhi and Subhadeep Pan was unveiled.[15][16] Ten days later, the second song "Oboseshe" sung by Arijit Singh was released.[17]

Reception
Upam Buzarbaruah of The Times of India gave it three and a half stars out of five and praised the movie saying that it is quite a pleasant watch. He noted that runtime of almost two and a half hours is a bit lengthy but the narrative, interspersed with some nice melodious songs, moves at a relatively fast pace and helps in passing the time easily. He opined that Kishmish is a refreshing treat for all ages and for the family.[19]
Anandabazar Patrika reviewed that the film brings back the nostalgic memories of college days and that watching it would lead one to possess a desire to go back to college.[20] The protagonist of the film, Dev, expressed that the best review was received from his father. He wrote "In my 39 years of life, my dad never wrote me a letter. Like every other movie, my dad and my family came today to see the movie Kishmish. Outside Dad wrote "Kishmish Super duper Hit"."[21] Ei Samay reviewed it and gave it three and a half stars out of five.[22]
