English: Photo by R. W. Rynerson, 1964. "Rambler Rose" with other 'tramp' Pullmans stored in Guilds Lake Yard, Portland, Oregon. Aging sleeping cars were sometimes painted in generic "Pullman" colors and lettering and kept on standby for troop trains, major conventions, or natural disasters. With its nationwide organization and network of facilities, the Pullman Company could respond to a variety of emergencies.
