Deutsch: Linearmotorgetriebene Magnetschwebebahn in Langstatorbauweise (Transrapid).

Der linke Teil zeigt Wagon und Trasse im Längsschnitt. Der rechte Teil zeigt den Wagon und die Trasse im Querschnitt. Die gestrichelte Linie zeigt die Stelle des Längsschnitts durch den Wagon und die Trasse an.
Der gelbe Pfeil zeigt die Richtung, in der das Magnetfeld wandert.
Der graue Pfeil zeigt an, dass der Wagon vom Magnetfeld mitgezogen wird.
In den Schienen (Langstatorbauweise) befinden sich 3-Phasen-Stator, der den eigentlichen Antrieb nach dem Linearmotorprinzip erzeugt. Die 3 Phasen sind mit dunklen Schattierungen von Rot, Blau und Grün angedeutet.
Die roten Führungsmagnete rechts und links (2x2) von der Trasse (rechter Bildteil) dienen der Führung des Wagons.

Die roten Elektromagnete (2) unterhalb der Trasse heben den Wagon in den Schwebezustand.
