Started as Bubier's Popular Electrician in 1890, the magazine was acquired by Sampson Publishing Company and the title was changed to Electrician and Mechanic in July 1906. The magazine was purchased by Modern Publishing and combined with Modern Electrics in January 1914 as Modern Electrics and Mechanics. After a series of mergers and title changes the magazine became Popular Science Monthly in October 1915 and is still published today.
