Object history
Deutsch: Die Merletten stammen aus dem Wappen des ehemaligen Amtes Rehme. Die Herren von Rehme verwendeten seit 1446 Siegel mit stehenden Vögeln. Die Wellenlinie symbolisiert den Bach Werre. Die Leiter wurde aus dem alten Stadtwappen übernommen, das aus dem Wappen der Freiherren von Oeynhausen stammt.
English: The merlettes haf been taken from the arms of former Amt Rehme. The lords of Rehme used seals with statant birds since 1446. The wavy line is symbolizing Werre creek. The ladder is taken from the old arms of city which had been taken from the arms of the barons of Oeynhausen.
