Ennu Swantham Punyalan[2] is an upcoming Indian Malayalam-language fantasy comedy thriller film directed by Mahesh Madhu. Produced by Ligo John under the banner of Truth Seekers Movie Productions, the film features a story and screenplay by Samji M Antony. The cast includes Arjun Ashokan, Balu Varghese, Anaswara Rajan, Renji Panicker, Althaf Salim, and Baiju Santhosh in prominent roles.

The film was officially announced on November 3, 2023. Principal photography began on June 24, 2024, with filming locations including Thrissur, Ernakulam, and Kottayam. The music and original background score are composed by Sam C. S.[3]

Development

The film marks the directorial debut of Mahesh Madhu.[4] On January 16, 2023, Mahesh Madhu announced the project, confirming Arjun Ashokan, Balu Varghese, and Anaswara Rajan as part of the cast. The story and screenplay are written by Samji M Antony. The film is produced by Ligo John under the banner of The Truth Seekers.

The cinematography will be handled by Renadive, known for his work in Comrade in America. The film’s visuals and pacing will be supervised by editor Sobin K. Soman.[5]

Casting

Following the success of Bramayugam, Arjun Ashokan signed on for Ennu Swantham Punyalan with director Mahesh Madhu. The team has announced that Balu Varghese, Anaswara Rajan, Renji Panicker, Althaf Salim, and Baiju Santhosh will play key roles, with Anaswara Rajan taking the female lead. The film will also feature supporting performances from several other actors, and the director has revealed that the movie will introduce a number of new faces.[6]

Filming

Principal photography of the film began on November 3, 2023, with a puja ceremony. The shoot lasted for 70 days, taking place across various locations, including Ezhupunna, Alappuzha, Aluva, Ernakulam, and Kuttikkanam in Idukki. The first schedule was held from March 1 to March 8, 2023, in Ernakulam.[7] The second schedule took place from November 3 to November 31, 2023, in Ezhupunna and Kuttikkanam. The third and final schedule occurred from December 2 to December 10, 2023, in Aluva, followed by the final leg of the shoot in Kuttikkanam from December 11, 2023, to January 5, 2024.[8]

Marketing

The film was announced with a casting call poster. The title poster was unveiled on November 3, 2023, coinciding with the start of the shoot. A pack-up poster was later released on March 11, 2024, marking the completion of filming.[9] The first look[10] motion poster of the film was launched on September 28, 2024. The official teaser[11] of the film was released on December 8, 2024, by actor Suresh Gopi.[12]

Music

The music and original background score for the film were composed by Sam C. S., known for his work in Vikram Vedha and Kaithi. The music rights for the film were acquired by Magic Frames Music.[13]

Release

The film is currently undergoing[14] its promotional campaign and is scheduled for release on January 10, 2025, as announced by actor Arjun Ashokan through his social media handles.[15]
