The Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in Brussels is the diplomatic mission of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to the Kingdom of Belgium, the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, and the European Union. It is located at Avenue Franklin Roosevelt 86, 1050 Brussels.[1]
His Excellency Mohamed Al Sahlawi has served as the UAE ambassador to Belgium, Luxembourg, and the European Union since November 2021.[2]
History
The UAE established diplomatic relations with Belgium in 1976. The embassy in Brussels was inaugurated that same year.[3] The embassy also represents the UAE's interests at the European Union while maintaining mutually beneficial relations with Belgium and Luxembourg.[4]
Ambassador
His Excellency Mohamed Al Sahlawi presented his credentials in November 2021.[5] Prior to his appointment in Brussels, Ambassador Al Sahlawi served as the UAE deputy head of Mission in Paris and deputy permanent delegate to UNESCO.[2]
