Activism
She led "We Too Built Britain" campaign, which advocates for the representation of ethnic minorities in UK civic symbols. One of her significant contributions was influencing the creation of the "Diversity Built Britain" 50 pence coin, resulting in over 2.5 million coins being circulated.[1][3]
Zaidi is also co-founder of Action for Afghanistan, an organization that supports Afghan refugees and promotes the rights of women and minority groups. Her work includes efforts to establish an All-Party Parliamentary Group for Afghan Women and Girls and to create specific asylum pathways for at-risk Afghan women.[4][5][6]
Professional Career
In her role at DAI, Zaidi served as the Senior Director of Human Development, where she oversaw education and governance programs across diverse regions including South and Central Asia, East Africa, and the Middle East. Her professional activities reflect a commitment to enhancing diversity and promoting effective governance globally.[7]
