Career

KGUR Radio Station

Nessie started her radio career in 2017 at KGUR Radio Station at Cuesta College.[4] During her first few months, she collected song requests from students on campus in an effort to help the listeners feel heard themselves, saying that people aren't going to want to tune in if they aren't going to be hearing something they want to hear.[5][5] Just four months later she became the Program Director for KGUR and Cuesta College's FTVE Department. Shortly after, she gained a significant following online due to the intricate visuals she would create based off of the songs she would play in her shows. She gained her certification in recording arts and audio production in 2024.[6]

Music career

On December 14th, 2023, she released a single called Bad Trip featuring the artist 8ball.exe. The song is inspired by The Backrooms, and tripping while high on life. Nessie then released a cover of the song Past Lives by Slushii and sapientdream on May 9th, 2024. In July, she released another cover of the song On Melancholy Hill by Damon Albarn, ‘On Squilancholy Hill’.

On September 20th, 2024, she released the Lo-fi beat ‘i tried’, which has no vocals.[7] Later on that year she released the EP ‘all my friends suck’ which has three tracks, and the single ‘parasocial’. The single's title and lyrics refer to the term parasocial, the one-sided connection between a person and a media figure or fictional character.
