Naïka (2023)

Naïka (born March 3, 1998 in Miami, Florida as Victoria Naika Richard[1]) is a French-Haitian-American singer and songwriter. Her music blends elements of pop, soul, and world music.

Biography

Naïka spent her childhood living in various countries with her family. She has Haitian and French roots.[2] During this time, she developed her musical interests at an early age. Growing up with influences from European, African, and Caribbean cultures shaped her musical style.

Musical career

Naïka studied Performance as her major at Berklee College of Music in Boston.[3] During her first year of study, she was selected for a tour with Grammy Award winner Michael Bolton and participated in the NBC casting show The Voice. In 2015, she placed second in the BMI John Lennon Foundation Scholarship competition.

Her song "Papa Gede (Bel Gason)" received 200,000 clicks within two days.[3] Naïka is signed to Universal Music.[4] She sings in French, Creole, and English.[4] Naïka lives and works in Miami.[1]
