Kozlovets (Bulgarian: Козловец) is a village in Veliko Tarnovo Province, north-central Bulgaria.
Geography
Location
Kozlovets is located in the central part of the Danubian Plain. The village is 16 km (9.9 mi) away from Svishtov.
The localities arount the village are Savova bara, Sovata, Bashlachuka, Gidelika.
History
The village was first mentioned in Turkish documents from 1632 under the name Isliva. The church "St. Dimitar" was built in 1887. Educational work began in the village with the opening of the "Stambolov" school on November 15, 1892.[2][3]
Sport
- The FC Kozlovets football team wins Football tournament in Veliko Tarnovo Province - South in : 1974/1975, 1980/1981, 1981/1982, 1985/1986, 1986/1987, 2017/2018, 2018/2019, 2021/2022.
- FC Zemedelets-93 was established in the 1993. The club played football (soccer) in Veliko Tarnovo`s Regional league. The team wins Football tournament in Veliko Tarnovo Province - South in : 2017/2018, 2018/2019, 2021/2022.
