The second season of the American television series Daredevil: Born Again, based on Marvel Comics featuring the character Daredevil, continues from the events of the series Daredevil (2015–2018) by Marvel Television and Netflix. The season is set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), sharing continuity with the films and television series of the franchise. It is produced by Marvel Studios, via its own Marvel Television label, with Dario Scardapane as showrunner.
Charlie Cox and Vincent D'Onofrio reprises their respective roles as Murdock and Fisk from the original series and other Marvel productions. Development on a new Daredevil series began by March 2022, with head writers Christopher Ord and Matthew Corman giving it an episodic structure and lighter tone than the original series. Born Again was announced in July 2022 with a planned 18-episode first season. After filming began, Marvel Studios decided to overhaul the series by late September and released Corman, Ord, and the initial directors. Scardapane was hired to rework the series, adding serialized elements and more connections to the Netflix series. A second season was confirmed in August 2024, with filming set to begin in early 2025.
The second season is scheduled to premiere on Disney+.

Production
Development
A reboot of Marvel's Netflix television series Daredevil (2015–2018) was reported to be in development with Marvel Studios in March 2022.[2][3] The series was confirmed to be in development for Disney+ in late May, with Christopher Ord and Matthew Corman attached as head writers and executive producers.[4] At San Diego Comic-Con that July, the series was announced as Daredevil: Born Again and was revealed to have 18 episodes for its first season.[5] By late September 2023, after six episodes had been filmed,[6][7] Marvel Studios decided to overhaul the series with a new creative direction. Corman and Ord were let go as head writers, as were the directors for the remainder of the series.[6] The creative team decided to make the series more serialized, darker in tone, and more connected to the original series than had previously been planned.[6][8] Dario Scardapane, a writer on Netflix's Daredevil spin-off series The Punisher (2017–2019), was hired as showrunner for Born Again in October 2023.[9] Nine episodes were filmed by May 2024.[10] In August, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige referred to these as a first season and confirmed that a second season was planned.[11][12] Before the season was confirmed, the series was expected to consist of 18 episodes divided into nine-episode halves.[13][7]
Writing
The series' original take was described as a legal procedural,[6] which was dark but not as gory as the Netflix series,[14] and more episodic than some of Marvel Studios' Phase Four series that have a larger story split across multiple episodes.[15] In March 2023, star Vincent D'Onofrio said they were working on two seasons and there would be "gigantic payoffs" during the second.[16] Following the series' creative overhaul, serialized elements were added,[9] and the cast said the events of the original series would be part of their characters' histories. Some new storylines build on those events, but they did not want to dwell too much on the past or alienate new viewers.[17]
Casting
Charlie Cox confirmed that he was returning to star as Matt Murdock / Daredevil in the season in January 2025.[1]
Filming
Cox revealed in January 2025 that filming for the second season would be underway by that March.[1]
Release
The second season of Daredevil: Born Again is scheduled to premiere on Disney+.
