Brittney Hopper (born February 3, 1982) is a Jewish American journalist and television host.[1] She is best known for her tenure at CBS News Los Angeles,[2] where she worked for over a decade, covering breaking news, entertainment events, and high-profile interviews. Hopper currently appears on Fox News Network[3] and is an advocate for combating antisemitism and misinformation.[3][4]
Early life and education
Hopper was born in Palm Springs, California, and raised in Palm Springs and Newport Beach. She was raised in a multicultural household by her Moroccan-Jewish mother, a model and American Father, Jimmy Hopper, Las Vegas "entertainer of the year" for many years and is a well-known singer. Hopper attended a Lubavitch Hebrew Academy until she had her Bat Mitzvah. She has frequently expressed pride in her Jewish heritage and has been outspoken against antisemitism.[5]
Career
Hopper began her career in journalism in 2004 at an NBC affiliate in Bend, Oregon. She later worked at various news stations across the United States before joining CBS News Los Angeles in 2010. While at CBS, she covered a wide range of topics, including breaking news, natural disasters, high-speed chases, the Black Lives Matter protests, and the COVID-19 pandemic. She also reported on entertainment events such as the Oscars, Golden Globes, and Grammy Awards.
During her tenure at CBS News Los Angeles, Hopper made appearances on CBS News Network, Entertainment Tonight, and Inside Edition.[4] She conducted interviews with notable figures, including former U.S. President Donald Trump, Joe Biden, actor Brad Pitt, and lots of other Oscar winning A list celebrities.[3][2]
Hopper left CBS News in late 2021 and joined the Fox News Network.[6] She has been vocal about the challenges facing modern journalism.
Advocacy and public speaking
Since the October 7, 2023, massacre in Israel, Hopper has become an active speaker addressing antisemitism and misinformation regarding Israel.[7] She has been a vocal supporter of Israel and participates in charitable initiatives focused on assisting children and women in need.[7][6]
