Charlie Thomas G. M. Clapham (born 28 June 1991) is a British Romani actor, best known for portraying the role of Freddie Roscoe in the Channel 4 soap opera Hollyoaks between 2013 and 2017, and again from 2024.

Life and career

Charlie Thomas G. M. Clapham was born on 28 June 1991 in Leicester to an English father and a Romani mother.[1][2] He trained at the Sylvia Young Theatre School.[3] He made his acting debut as Jake in the television adaption of Feather Boy in 2004.[4] In 2007, he appeared in the BBC television film Coming Down the Mountain. In 2010, he appeared in two episodes of The Bill, and subsequently went on to appear in various short films including United (2011), Brian's Offy (2012) and Curse of the Dead (2012), as well as the film Community (2012).[4]

In 2013, Clapham appeared in the film Kick-Ass 2, before joining the cast of the Channel 4 soap opera Hollyoaks as Freddie Roscoe, a role he portrayed for four years before leaving the soap in April 2017.[5][6][7] He reprised the role seven years later, with his return scenes airing in April 2024.[8][9][10][11]

Outside of Hollyoaks, he has appeared in the film The Hooligan Factory (2014), and went on to appear in array of short films such as Poached (2019), One (2019) and Velvet (2020).[12] In 2021, he appeared in the film Override, and the following year appeared in the television film English Estate. In 2024, he appeared in the films Rebel Moon – Part Two: The Scargiver, Bermondsey Tales: Fall of the Roman Empire, and A Gangster's Kiss.[4]
