Adedayo Olawuyi is a Nigerian businessman and corporate executive, who is the Chief Commercial Officer of Uganda Airlines, the national airline of Uganda, since March 2023.[1] Before that he was the Head of Commercial at Africa World Airlines in Ghana.[2]

Background and education

Olawuyi completed his Senior Secondary Certificate Examination in 1996t at Federal Government College, Ilorin. He subsequently graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics from the University of Ibadan in 2002.[1]

He completed his Master's degree in Air Transport Management from Cranfield University in the UK in 2016.[2]

Career

In 2006, Olawuyi joined Virgin Nigeria Airways and remained with the airline through multiple rebranding as Nigerian Eagle Airlines and Air Nigeria in the ground handling and commercial departments.[1]

In 2018, he joined Africa World Airlines in Ghana as the Network and Planning Manager. He was promoted to Head of Commercial in 2020. During his time, the airline was the recipient of the prestigious Routes Africa Awards for "Innovation and Capacity Growth" in recognition for AWA's steady growth and profitability.[3] The airline also grew its operations in Liberia[4] and Sierra Leone.

In 2023, Olawuyi was hired by Uganda Airlines as its new Chief Commercial Officer based in Kampala[2]. He was instrumental in driving Uganda Airlines' launch of service to Mumbai[5], Lagos[6][7], Harare[8] and Lusaka[9].
