The Lyonnais won the game with a score of 5-1, thanks to a hat-trick from Sidney Govou, and goals from Vikash Dhorasoo and Peguy Luyindula, the only Lorient goal being the work of Patrice Loko. Olympique Lyonnais thus won its first Champions Trophy.
