The men's singles draw was won by amateur Julian Snow.[2] It was the first victory by an amateur since Howard Angus in 1979, and the first by a British player since 1985. It was Snow's first British Open victory and his third Open victory in 1992. The doubles was won by the Australian pair of Lachlan Deuchar and Wayne Davies, receiving a walkover in the final over Frank Filippelli and James Male. They recovered the title they had held between 1984 and 1990. It would be the last year either of them would win the title.
