Chennai collabs

Hi Anbu, Are we going for GA review for the Chennai collabs. Please let the forum know - if there are gaps, we can address and push for it. Ssriram mt (talk) 00:54, 2 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The aim of the collaboration would be to bring the efforts of many people to a single article. Its really difficult to produce a GA every month. Even INCOTM is not able to do that with 30 editors. It is our collective responsibility to GAN the articles whenever it is ready. I am still not comfortable with GANing Chennai article. If you think it is good enough, please go ahead and GAN it. Arignar Anna Zoological Park, I believe, Rasnaboy would be thinking to GAN it as soon as the map is done.
One more question to everyone: Should we factor in the GAN process inside the collaboration? (i.e) GAN the article at the end of the month?

I really don't think so because articles are in different stages. While articles like Chennai Port, Marina Beach, Vandalur Zoo, MRTS, and American Consulate requires only one month of collaboration, others might require lot more than that.--Challengethelimits (talk) 03:11, 2 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
True. We can't (and shouldn't) push every article necessarily at the end of the month, for I afraid we might end up getting disqualified often. Collaboration aims at improving the article, and we should wait till the article is "really" ready for a GA. Let's continue working this way and try to achieve GA status for more articles. By the way, Vandalur Zoo article is ready save for the map, which User Challengethelimits is currently working on. Hope he would finish it before next week and we can then proceed further with it. Regarding Chennai article, I feel we should wait for some more time till the article is tweaked to the best. Needless to say, we should work on it more and add several necessary statistical and historical info. Let's do that in the coming months. Rasnaboy (talk) 04:12, 2 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I agree, time is needed. 30 days is not enough for five of us to produce a GA each time. Let us develop the article. Let others also contribute, and based on that we can push for GAN. --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 06:30, 2 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Well, since there's a pretty clear consensus, I agree with you people. Secret of success (talk) 12:03, 2 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I agree with everyone that it's impossible to produce a GA once in every 30 days. The main aim is to improve the articles as much as we can and nominate them at a later stage. Chennai needs a little more work as it shouldn't take much time to get it to FAC after it passes the GAN. For now, Chennai Port and Vandalur Zoo are GTG. The Barnstar practice

Do we need to keep awards subjective in our collaboration? I fear that will bring down the value of Barnstars. What do you feel? --Challengethelimits (talk) --14:58, 1 December 2012 (UTC) Message copied here from Challengethelimits' talk page --Anbu121 (talk me) 15:08, 1 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, Even I thought of this. Initially, I proposed the barnstars to attract editors to signup for the collaboration. But now, this has become a monthly routine for four of us. --Anbu121 (talk me) 15:08, 1 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Support. Indeed, we have grown out of these. :) I love this team. :) Rasnaboy (talk) 15:12, 1 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Support I'm getting rather tired of showing off. --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 16:27, 1 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

"Past collaborations of the month" Table

Hi Anbu. Can we include another column called "No. of bytes added" in the table, which I feel would be a good indicator of the article's progress? Rasnaboy (talk) 15:09, 1 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Also the class the article has progressed to? Rasnaboy (talk) 15:10, 1 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Support. Two main motivation factors.--Challengethelimits (talk) 02:23, 2 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
