Welcome to the New Mexico State Roads Task Force of WikiProject U.S. Roads!

All state-maintained highways in New Mexico, including all Interstate Highways, U.S. Highways and New Mexico state-numbered roads, and any other road-related transportation articles of note. The goal is to organize, standardize, and expand the articles on highways in New Mexico to be a broad, comprehensive, and recognized resource.

• NMDOT Route Logs & Legal Descriptions - scroll to Data Management Bureau
• A collection of historic NMDOT road maps and current shapefiles for map making/KML is provided by NM RGIS. From the left navigational column under Filter data by Theme, select the following directories:
  • For historic maps, follow All RGIS→NMDOT→Historic Maps→New Mexico
  • For shapefiles, follow All RGIS→NMDOT→Roads→New Mexico
• NMDOT Mile Post Map
• Memorial Designations (including history)
• Media related to Roads in New Mexico at Wikimedia Commons
• /1988 renumbering
• /Early history
• /1930s

Articles should follow WP:USRD/STDS.

Articles should be titled "New Mexico State Road X" per WP:USSH.

The various shield graphics are located in Category:New Mexico State Road shields on Commons. {{jct}} can create the various links to highway articles with the appropriate shield graphics for use in the infobox or junction lists.

Articles should be placed in the following categories as appropriate:

• Category:State highways in New Mexico for most highways
• Category:Interstate Highways in New Mexico for highways that are also part of the Interstate Highway System in the state
• Category:U.S. Highways in New Mexico for highways that are also part of the U.S. Highway System in the state
• Category:Transportation in X County, New Mexico for each county the highway traverses.

Use {{infobox road}} or {{infobox road junction}} as needed for articles. The state parameters should contain the state's postal abbreviation. The type codes are the same as for the junction template below.

Use {{jct}} to create the entries in a junction list section for the article, or the junction list in the infobox. To use, insert {{jct|state=NM|type|number}} into the article. If two to four highways are needed, use {{jct|state=NM|type|first number|type|second number}}. Types can be I for Interstates, US for US Routes or NM for state routes.
